  1. Very convincing Midwest "rust belt" car. Not an uncommon sight around here.
  2. Spending the weekend at home with my wife. No plans now. Was suppose to go up north and spread my dads ashes in the northwoods, but not everyone could go...so we're putting it off for now.
  3. Always loved the Countach's. So way ahead of themselves in design for the time...and still is even out of production now. Great looking build and color that really works. Don't know what it is about the color orange and fast cars, but they go together so well.
  4. Built either way...what about the Laser Stripes? Haven't seen decals for them. They might be kind of hard to find. I suppose they could be masked and airbrushed and cleared with a reflective clear to get somewhat of the effect of the real stripes.Fast & Furious screen shot.
  5. Actually I think its the one from the movie Grand Torino. They mentioned the Magnum 500 rims. Movie screen shot.
  6. Fantastic looking Beetle!
  7. Sweet color...deep, dark, and shiny! Blue on the bottom...what will the break up color be?
  8. Whatever tickles your fancy I guess. Seems they're just having a little fun with their pets and they look healthy. So, no harm done.
  9. Welcome aboard Kevin. And, ask away...there's plenty of people here with answers.
  10. You can try Model Empire @ www.modelempireusa.com, or 414-453-4610. It's one of the hobby stores by me and also has an online catalog. I know they have some Tru-Match in stock. Just stay away from the regular bottled paint...they're mostly dried out. Don't know why they are still on the shelf.
  11. Love the engine bay detail!
  12. The term you're looking for is "engine turned" like on the dash of the older Trans Am's. Anyway...been following this thread and am really impressed with the amount of detail you're adding. And now with the weathering...photographed the right way when you're done will probably fool a lot of people thinking it's real. Can't wait to see this one done.
  13. Thanks...that was what I wanted to say and meant. Oops...thanks to you too Jonathan.
  14. Off the top of my head, I can't remember what "series" it was, but AMT has some models that are "curb side" models. They are very simple construction with minimal parts, hence...no engine, probably metal axles, and only a few or so parts for the interior. Kind of like the old promo models dealerships use to give out as a sales pitch or to the kids. You have to read the side of the box to see exactly what you're getting....parts count, the pictures, etc...
  15. For a 41 year old work truck, it looks amazing from what I can see from the pic. Had to be very well cared for and not abused. You've got a winner there. Wouldn't change it anymore than you already have.
  16. Just got home from one and picked up a couple magazine adds mounted on heavy tag-paper. One for the '67 GTO and the other for the Hurst Dual Gate Shifter in the '67 GTO. Also a Hallmark Collector's Series '69 Hurst Olds 442 ornament(mint in box). There are tons of 1/24th die-cast Sprint cars for $4 or 2 for $7, other racing figures(NASCAR & football), and smaller die-cast NASCAR(mostly Jeff Gordon & Dale Earnhardt). The guy also recently sold his '67 GTO...missed out on that, and his Corvette's (2). No plastic kits...he included the 2 '67 GTO kits he had with the real car. I'll definately be on the hunt this summer.
  17. I understand the NASCAR angle. Like say...Toyota(TRD) is a foreign brand, but by default, because they assemble the Camery, Tundra, and maybe a couple of other models in the US...they are allowed(qualify) to race in NASCAR. That being said...the rebadged Commodore as a Chevrolet wouldn't qualify, if I'm not mistaken, for NASCAR, because it's actually an import(besides the engine)...not built in the US. I just don't see any reason why not to start building or importing some Holden's as Holden's. GM seems to be doing fine now-a-days. Holden Commodore's are a pretty nice looking car as it sits.
  18. Great....but why does it HAVE to be a Chevrolet(SS)? If I wanted to buy another plain old (styled) Chevrolet...that's what I'd buy. Why not just make it left-hand drive and sell it for what it is through GM dealerships? Holden already is a GM brand...and yes, I know the Pontiac GTO('04-'06) & G8's were Holden's. Don't get me started on that "dumping" of Pontiac decision.
  19. I totally missed this thread. I've got 100's of GTO's and other Pontiac's. There's some other cars and car makers in there too. It doesn't matter who makes it...JL, Matchbox, HW, Greenlight, etc...if it's a Pontiac, I'll buy it. Nothing is displayed and are stored in boot boxes.
  20. Wasn't sure if I really wanted to enter the contest, but tried to submit the info and pics anyway to see what would happen. Didn't get past the entry page though. Looked like it was going and then went back to a blank entry form.
  21. Fantastic job Geoff.
  22. Just be careful with the full windshield. It's pretty thin and easy to snap if you're not careful. Mine snapped while masking for the chrome trim that is molded right into the glass. Otherwise, it's a really nice little model. Have fun with it.
  23. Donn Yost's videos. Now, hopefully I can get some much better airbrushing results.
  24. Yup...I know. Have to save $ right now. Just bought a scooter last week, so the truck(s) will have to wait a little bit.
  25. Maybe...I don't know. I know there is another kit of a Euro truck, Bussing 8000S I think. I just haven't seen any on the shelves anywhere and like I said before...I just gotta have one. At least a reissue would probably be cheaper anyway.
