    Surf Rod

Thanks folks. I don't have a real super close up Neal. This is the best I can do. I tape toilet paper to a sheet of A4 and then run it through the printer. I then spray it with Testors Decal Sealer before gluing it down with "stick" glue.
  4. Man that's...I was going to say nice but maybe that's the wrong word looking at the condition of it Excellent work. Big thumbs up.
  5. Nice touch with the tail of the stripe.

    Surf Rod

I put this one together with the idea that a surfing rodder built something to get him to the beach quickly and with style. Since getting it on the road the sun, salt air and windblown sand has taken it's toll, the roof fabric has had to be patched due to wear & tear and carrying greasy engine parts for his mates has wrecked the carpets. But it'll still get him to the beach quickly and with style. Not a r## rod, just used. It's the Revellogram '30 Woody kit with the engine & tuning parts from the Revell '40 convertible. Front wheels are from the Heller/Revell BMW Dixie with AMT '29 roadster tyres. Rear wheels are from my parts box with tyres from an AMT '96 Blazer with the sidewall script shaved off. Paint is cheap rattle can enamel unpolished and not cleared. Woodwork is dry brushed acrylics and the kit decals. Carpet is felt and Mexican blanket is printed onto toilet paper. Roof patches are toilet paper with thinned black acrylic dabbed into it from a brush which dries nice & patchy and looks like the roof was fixed with something cheap & thin that they had knocking around. Surf board is scratch built using a resin one as a template.
  7. Isn't Google wonderful. There are pics of the German transkit here http://204442.homepagemodules.de/t644f24-SUPERNATURAL-acute-Chevrolet-Impala-door-amp-Figures.html It was made by Scale Production who can be found at www.scaleproduction.de but it is not listed on their website anymore. However, no harm in sending them an e-mail. If you can be bothered that is.
  8. Japan. Bandai make Gundam kits with multiple different colours & types of plastic on the one sprue. It's very impressive and i'm not quite sure how they do it. Not built the undersized IMC/Union version in the '48 Ford Convertible then?

    Batmobile

Thanks folks. Glad you like it.
  10. Thanks Virg. Still not a patch on the original Interceptor IMO.
  11. If the drivers weight was a real advantage (compared to the drivers skill) then you'd see all the team owners queuing up to hire jockeys.

    Batmobile

Craig - It is THE definitive Batmobile. The one 96% of people think of when they hear the name*. Accept no substitute. Dom - Thanks. If you can't have a laugh doing it then I don't want to do it. * remembering that 87% of statistics are made up on the spot.

Thanks folks. I had a ball with this one.

    Batmobile

So Bruce has retired the Barris Batmobile preferring to use the Batpod as Gotham City roads dept are just not keeping up with the repairs and hitting all those potholes with the soft Lincoln springing is not doing his back any favours. What to do with it? Well he ships it off to his cousin Wayne Bruce in Melbourne who modifies it for local conditions. Turbines are for helicopters and ships - what a man needs is a V8 so nasty they banned it. And Bat computer? nah. Computers are for playing games and looking at naked chicks. All you need in the boot is the battery. And of course we'll need to put the steering on the correct side, remove the Batphone to save weight and where would we be without an ashtray and a skull shift knob.
  15. I wouldn't count on getting the decals - Airfix now routinely leave out swastikas from WW2 luftwaffe model kits. In my book by denying the thing you are only giving it power. But that's not a discussion for here. Tatra. Yes. One of the cars Dr Porsche got all his ideas from. I'd love a 1/25 kit of a 603
  16. I see the politically correct have decreed once again that if we see swastikas on box art we may get carried away and invade Poland.
  17. Bad News is a '60 not a '59. I'd base this on an AMT '59 El Camino but your biggest challenge will be that taller than usual windscreen...
  18. Rumour had it that you'd been taken out by chunks of the Russian meteor...
  19. It's got a touch of HQ Monaro about it but that design was heavily "supervised" by Detroit to follow the GM corporate look of the time. It's certainly no Holden i've ever seen but that of course means nothing
  20. Coin toss would do as well, but OK. However, I think Jant has a point. This being a nice friendly helpful place where they will bend over backwards to keep us happy (unlike where we came from) maybe a politely worded request to the right person at the appropriate time could get the number of poll options raised?
  21. 3 Window. With no new parts but with a mix & match from the others - say with a flathead, hairpins, bobbed & cycle fenders and the new wheels & tyres.
