'48 Ford mild custom-- body painted and foiled, 9/7
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I managed to get a couple coats of paint on the body, then it got wet sanded with soapy 2000 grit........ It will get probably two more coats. Just wanted to get a mockup of how this is gonna look. To be honest, I kinda like the "suede" look of this without clear. Thanks for looking......... -
I really like this kit, and REALLY like this build...............

Thanks a Bunch, Guys! Hey, friend..... The body is done with Model Master Dark Bronze Metallic, and cleared with DupliColor. Also this is the first car I put any wax on, but I didn't really polish it....

RIP Walter Becker/Steely Dan fame
JollySipper replied to mikemodeler's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Steely Dan was just in Raleigh, NC a couple years ago........ Really wish I could have gone. I've had the same lyrics in my signature since I joined here, have been a fan since I was a teen and had discovered one of their albums, the one with "Show Biz Kids" on it... -
Need a deep crimson color
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the replies, Guys...... I was just looking at images of oxblood interiors, and that is about the color I would need. Does anyone make an oxblood color that's non-metallic? I've found some paints close in color, but they were metallic....... -
Hey, Fellas, I need a dark red/crimson color that's non-metallic to do my next project's interior with. I'll be painting the body either a deep blue or a dark gray. The paint needs to be in a spray can. Anyone have an example of an interior they've done with this color? Pics would be awesome....... Thanks for any help!

Once the clear cures, I may go over it with some Scratch-X to try to bring out the shine better.....All that's left is to paint the interior, vinyl top, and do some foil work....... Then comes final assembly! -

Put the color coats on today! This paint is really pretty until it dries, looks kinda muddy now......... The clear will bring the shine back..... Thanks again for viewing......... -

Here's the vinyl top trimmed out..... First time doing this. Kinda glue-bombed it a little. Almost ready for some color coats! Thanks for checking it out.............. -
If you're a steak guy, you need to go to Food Lion and pick up some Ribeyes marinated in Montreal season. They come in a pack of two, and there's no blood in them, it's all marinade, so there's no need to over cook them. I cut out pork pretty much completely, and my blood pressure reflects that..........

Hey, Doug! I cut the inner fenders from the '71 from the top using my trusty Trumpeter scriber...... Nifty little tool.... -

Still working on this one! I need some help, tho..... The interior paint just will not cover the orange, so I've put a wanted post in the proper forum for the parts I need in either gray or white. Will have some more progress on this one soon. -
Hey, Alix..... I didn't chop the top, this kit has a chopped top already. I just put weld seams where it would have been put back together on the 1:1 (at least I HOPE they are where they should be!)

1966 Porsche 906 in 1/24?
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hey, Guys...... I'm still curious about the 1/16 906 from Entex/Bandai........ It says on the box that it's full detail, I'm just wondering if anyone has seen one in person? or maybe seen one online somewhere with a review of the kit? This would be an excellent gift to get myself for my upcoming birthday, I think..............
