Likely a very long-term project..... Building a Coyote X
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hey, Carl man! The original release of this kit was by MPC and was molded in red..... The AMT/Ertl release is the one I have and is a much more manageable grey color ( what you see in the pics ).... -
That's so funny...... ask people 'what's the hardest thing for you to say?' and they'll say it every time!

More done........ I was kinda wondering how I was gonna do the stripes. The rest of the shading is graphite, and I knew that if I did all the stripes in color there would be a "medium clash" I guess you could call it..... I decided to just do the orangish red stripe in color, so it would just be a stark contrast to the rest being pencil. It's about 2/3 done.....

Just wanted to show y'all how I had to cut the tanks free from the rest of the floor. The tanks themselves are held together with a temporary glue...... I'll save the air box for under the front end....... -

I have a little progress to show, it's just the engine. I would have liked to add dual carbs and such, just don't have those parts.... Now I have kind of a dilemma with the tires I had picked for this build. Seems the rears that I settled on are made by Testors, and apparently are known to shrink and crack....... So I've got an ad in the wanted section looking for a set of tires. If anyone could help.......... -

Father figures who try to be role models are probably a blessing, something I missed out on as my Dad was a 'do as I say, not as I do' person......

'Vacation' can include a 'trip' to the model room, or in my case the dining area, which is where I build.

vintage kits sellers?
JollySipper replied to MrMiles's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Model Roundup carries a few vintage kits in their "Vintage Vault". You can also look under their recently discontinued kits for older ones to build...... -
Hello, Martin man! I really like what's going on here..... The panoramic roof will definitely make this special. I really hope you'll figure out the clear piece, maybe using a thin enough clear sheet, you can form it at a low enough temp that the buck doesn't get warped on you.....?

I live in a small town, so I kinda get it, what she's doing......... Wearing the silly hat is supposed to make her seem more 'personable'. ( although less professional... )
