  1. or maybe repair the tire, then repaint it in a rubber black?
  2. I've seen some paint jobs done in DupliColor 'Metal Cast' paint that looked really good for a candy paint. The warning I've heard the most was be careful of what clear you put over it.......
  3. (sorry..... too slow!)
  4. Comedian Martin Short was Ed Grimley on SNL, a skit character later made into a cartoon.
  5. The Revell '29 Ford pickup 3-n-1 kit has a very nice set of wide whites with the rears taller than the fronts......
  6. Manifold Absolute Pressure and Mass Air Flow are a couple of automotive acronyms.
  7. DupliColor makes a clear in their 1K line that is pearl..... Maybe if you have trouble obtaining a pearl paint like you want, you could just shoot the pearl clear over a solid green. I use the 1K ultra gloss, but haven't tried the pearl clear, yet. It's a really good clear, and it comes in the big aerosol can, so it lasts a while.....
  8. I remember that show! Used to watch it and the Rescue Rangers every day........ I wonder if there's a kit of a plane that's close to the Sea Duck, one that could be made to look like it?
  9. Front side marker lights are amber, rears are red.....
  10. Sharp dog........ and good breeds!
  11. Mouth harps don't do anything but twang.....
  12. Les, man.... Have you thought about just sealing up what's on the walls with an oil-based primer? Once that dried, you could float everything (yes, the whole wall...) with the joint compound until it was smooth...... Then you could just sand, prime, and paint.
  13. Teenager me was lucky enough to have both art and auto shop as classes, both of which have been discontinued in schools.
  14. Rhyme doesn't have to exist in prose poetry.
  15. Cool! I wonder if anyone makes a decal set for Alpina graphics? I want to get another one of these kits and at least the under hood detail stuff for it...... I wanted to get a feel for the kit first, but now that I have it, it's such a good kit that there wouldn't have been any problems with the detail-up stuff.......
  16. Cool of you to join in, Kurt! This is a delightful little kit......... Do you have the door cards, too?
  17. These are really cool! I've wanted to take up making lamps and clocks as another hobby...... Besides the basic kits, what kind of tools would be needed? I'm guessing something to solder with?
  18. Hey, Matija, Thanks! The wheels are from a Fujimi BMW kit (the 635CSi) and the tires I got in a trade........ I'll have to remove some width from the wheels if I do end up using them.
  19. Days are starting to get longer, giving us more evening daylight....
  20. This question comes up a lot, and you'll most likely get a bunch of different answers..... I had to give up on one kit (a T Bird molded in red) because of this reason. I finally figured that the only way to keep the dye from coming through was to use craft paints on it, as they're not 'hot' like a lot of spray cans can be...... I'll still build the Thunderbird kit eventually, but it will have to wait until I get an airbrush setup..........
  21. Mistakes not made are mistakes not learned from....
  22. Kinda messing around with this wheel/tire combo....... What do you guys think?
  23. Introverted people usually have a strong character.
  24. I've been listening to a bunch of Zappa lately, coincidentally......... Mainly Apostrophe and Over-Nite Sensation.........
  25. Working on some of the suspension bits..........
