  1. Thanks Mike. Yes the rear deck lid was a problem with mine previously. I just cut off the hinges and did the same as you. I did see a pick up version on one of the sites recently so may leave mine off altogether!
  2. Hi Mike, I've thought about this kit as it's on the shelf. It's washed and ready to build, can you tell me what page in the WIP Section it's on please, just to remind me of the drawbacks!
  3. Great Idea! It's a pity your not here in the UK, You could've towed down our street for a party!
  4. Well done! It looks great. A kit that I built many years ago when it was first released.
  5. Thanks Robert. Yes everything is going up in price but we don't get anything extra for it!
  6. Cheers Larry.
  7. As I'm running out of paint, I'm not spraying many builds unless I have enough to do a few top coats on each build. This kit has very few detail parts. I had to fill in the back section with a plasticard sheet, otherwise you could look right through the space between the body and flat chassis plate. Anyway easy to build with just a touch of matt black brush work here and there. A local model shop is now selling small Revell spray cans for over £10! Oh plus postage.
  8. Love the Ford Consul Capri Classic. A neighbour had one brand new in the day!
  9. Groovy!
  10. Thanks David. Here's the box art.
  11. Cheers Carl, I see so much Rallying and so much Grand Tour Race cycling I had to do this somehow or other!
  12. Thanks guys.
  13. Thanks espo. I've just watched another stage in the Tour of Spain with their various team support cars!
  14. Cheers Dan.
  15. Basic curbside kit, steering front suspension flimsy, so added plastic square rod to stabilise. This phantom version could be used as a Rally Barge, carrying spares from stage end to stage end on a major WRC rally. OR In a similar roll carrying spares/sustenance for a Grand Tour Cycling Team on the Tour of France, Spain, Italy etc.
  16. Cheers Anton. I was getting the feeling that everything here had to be pristine and perfect, eg standard with no imagination.
  17. Yes Howard and as a rally marshal in the day had met both of them at various events. Colin still lived with his family in Scotland with his parents living nearby. His brother Alastair has lived in Australia/New Zealand for a number of years now and although perhaps not having the breaks in rallying that his brother did, was successful in the USA with Subaru winning back to back championships, has also been successful in Oz etc with Subaru as well. Richard Burns lived near Oxford about 20 miles from here and I saw whilst marshalling at Silverstone a number of times, travelling with his girlfriend who later became his wife always on a big motorbike.
  18. Thanks for your comments Howard. Yes your right the Monte Carlo Rally was the first.
  19. I bought this some time ago, And used the decals on, So I've now used the McQueen decals on this rescued from a barn.. Unconventional Yes!
  20. Looks like a great kit. I remember them on track at Silverstone when I marshalled there.
  21. But it's also interesting to note that although we started the WRC here in UK, this year like last we do not hold a round of the WRC this year! We are not part of the calendar!
  22. Yes Howard. Prodrive is about 20 miles from us, so we see various cars being tested on our roads in camo. Mainly when they had the Subaru contract. We also see various camo Aston Martins as well as their test track is also near Banbury, as was the test facility for Rang Rover where my brother in law worked for many years in a test driver capacity. We were at the Williams F1 Workshops in 2018 where they have their joint build facility for Singer 911's in the UK.
