  1. It seems that Acu Stion makes PE for the Fujimi GTO. I have to say the Fujimi kit rocks! Though the Protar engine is superior. Strada Sports seems to have the best US price for the Fujimi GTO as well. Not to mention free shipping.
  2. KA Models makes parts for the Revell/Protar. Check w/Kevin @ Strada Sports, there's at least two different levels of detail kits for the Revell/Protar GTO from KA.
  3. That looks spectacular! Great rake to it.
  4. Keep your screen name, but write your real name in your signature (go to "My Controls" link above to create/modify your signature in your personal profile). We all have been asked by Gregg to do this if our user name is not our real name. There are a lot of people here that have snuck under the radar, but it would be nice if you and everyone else w/o their name in the signature would add your name there. Makes for a more personable experience, this place is like family, for good and bad
  5. The easiest work-around to any problem with IE is to download a new browser that works. Firefox is much safer than IE, has far fewer issues, and is free. Most people rave about it. Once I ditched IE, I never turned back. I still have it, there are one or two sites set up that work better on IE, but most work far better on Firefox. You should also note quicker loading of pages.
  6. Outstanding! Is this going in the "Mopar" theme category? Can't wait to see it on Saturday.
  7. Looks like a winner! Will it be on the table Saturday?
  8. The Cox Cheetahs are the ones that are rare and valuable. I got mine pretty cheap, but it was part of a package price for a number of similar old models that all have to be restored. I got some goodies to say the least. I don't know what built ones generally go for, but my jaw dropped when I searched Feebay for Cox Cheetahs right after I got mine, and one had just sold for $620 in mint/unbuilt condition w/a nearly perfect box.
  9. Cool project! I have a restorable Cox Cheetah, and bought some Modelhaus wheels/tires that are improvements over the original kit parts. The Mini Exotics kit is still available, though not sure if what you have is exactly what they offer today. Historic Racing Miniatures makes an incredible full-detail Cheetah kit that probably is much like what you can achieve with all the parts you have. If your resin and white metal parts are clean and you have all the parts, you'll have a great model when done. Might as well build it, what you have isn't so rare/unobtainable for someone who wants a full-detail Cheetah because they can get the full monty from HRM. Builders can find Cheetah models from Mini Exotics/R&D Unique, Modelhaus, and HRM. I've seen all three, the Modelhaus and HRM kits are of superb quality, the Mini Exotics is rougher around the edges but less $$. Modelhaus is simple repop of the original curbside Cox kit with improved rolling stock.
  10. I won't let anything in the background or foreground attempt to lead me astray! This one seems pretty easy. I'll know for sure on Friday
  11. The AOL Hometown/Compuserve shutdown also killed off the websites for the LIARS club and NNL East. Way to go AOL
  12. The AOL Hometown shutdown also killed the LIARS and NNL East websites.
  13. That looks neat; I have one of those kits somewhere that I simply built w/o painting; my memory seems to think it wasn't quite as small as 1/28 but then again we don't get that car here in the states.
  14. Ditto to all the above. Happy for both Massa winning the race, happy for Hamilton to win the championship. I doubt I'll be watching F1 next year. Cutting Montreal from the season was the last straw.
  15. Quite the opposite; Bandai is still around-they just don't make model cars anymore. Entex was just a brand name given to distribute some Japanese models from various sources, including Bandai, back in the '70's. I have a mint unbuilt lime green X1/9, I built one too when I was a kid. Doubt I'll ever build this one, so it'll be hitting the 'bay soon.
  16. This thread needs to be pinned as at least one other forum is deleting the information and there's inevitably going to be a barrage of "what happened to MCW" threads resulting from the website change.
  17. I've built them and didn't find any errors on their part. Because of the orientation of the parts and the layering sequence, it's best to build them one at a time, and this includes cutting each layer from the fret one at a time, or at a minimum cutting them out and placing them in the same numbered sequence as they were on the fret. They're easy to get mixed up and if that happens you will have spacing problems. Once the spokes are all in place you can carefully clamp the inner/outer wheel halves together and glue them. Be careful with clamping so you don't damage the edge of the rims. After the first wheel is done the rest are easier.
  18. While I figured it was a model, I couldn't come up w/any information until you mentioned scale. It's actually 1/3 scale!
  19. The ACME NNL Southern Nationals is fast approaching! In addition to the NNL on Saturday Nov. 8, we have a hospitality room at the host hotel on Friday and Saturday evenings. Lots of bench racing and catching up with old friends and new! Theme categories are Mopar and Mercedes. We have a web theme as well that you can find out about on our NNL page. Hope to see everyone at the show! ACME NNL Southern Nationals 2008
  20. ME!! Really looking forward to it! Our tables have been sold out for over a month. ACME NNL website for anyone needing information on the Atlanta show next weekend: 2008 ACME NNL Southern Nationals
  21. If you like model cars you should naturally like cars. If you like cars you should consider reading any of the automotive blogs (like Autoblog, Jalopnik, Edmunds Inside Line, The Winding Road, etc.) to keep up with what's new and what's happening (the blogs make traditional magazines obsolete; the information in them is old by the time it hits the newsstand), and if you did read blogs / magazines you would already know that there is a refreshed 2010 Mustang with a new look that will debut to the public in a few weeks; at the rate that new cars hit the web it could happen as early as this week or next week. The car officially debuts in person at the LA Auto Show in late November. Ford has been leaking detail photos of the car, and there are tons of spy shots of them in camouflage. The '09 model year will be shortened only because they'll be making '10 Mustangs early next year. 2010 Mustang
  22. Be VERY careful what you use to remove the paint. Acetate bodies do NOT like the common chemicals modelers use to strip paint! I ruined a body with what I though was the safest stripper known (Scalecoat paint remover).
