  11. Thanks everyone for your helpful comments and advise. If all goes as planned and I don't experience any paint issues down the road, hopefully, I will post some pictures of the finished build in the near future. Thanks again. Terry
  12. I am starting to build the AMT/Ertl 1/25 1958 Chevy Impala and I have a question regarding the ride height of the car. If I build the car at the stock height setting, will the front end sit too high or do I need to use the custom height setting to get a more realistic look? I am trying to get a factory stock look. Thanks for any help that you can provide, Terry

  16. Nicely done on both of the builds.
  17. When dealing with older decals, I have found that it can often be hit and miss when using MicroScale Liquid Decal Film. Sometimes the liquid does its job and the decal is useable. Other times, not so much, as the decal still falls apart when released from the backing paper. I guess it depends on the age of the decals or maybe the manufacture or both, not sure. I would find a decal on the sheet that will not be used and apply the liquid to it and see how it reacts before coating the whole sheet. You can always clear coat the decals as magicmustang states in his post but do it in very thin coats as the paint will add thickness to the decals. You will also have to cut out the decals very close to the design as the clear coats will cover the entire sheet.
  18. Great job with the decaling.

    1934 Packard

Nicely done and good color choice.
  24. I build this back in 2018 after coming across an article on the web about the first factory made motorhome to be built in America. I won't go into the history of the vehicle at this time, but for more information check out gtamarketing.com/graemes-1937-Ford-Housecar/. I started the build with the R/M 1937 Ford Pickup. The cab and the doors were removed just aft of the windshield. Everything from there back was scratch built using styrene sheet, rod and strip. All the items in the interior were scratch built, also. The engine was detailed with spark plug wires, fuel lines, heater hoses, etc. The louvers on the hood sides were opened up and brass wire was used for the handles. All of the kit chrome was removed and replaced with Alclad ll Chrome. The body color was a custom mix of Model Masters paints. I spent about 6 months, off and on, having fun building the model. If you check out the website that I mentioned above, you will see that I tried to capture the look of the real vehicle as best as I could, inside and out. I completed the model in time to enter it at the 2018 IPMS National Convention in Phoenix, where it placed second in the Documented Replica class. Enjoy the photos and comments are always welcomed.
