  1. That's a real beauty, and a cool story too. This is awesome, I like it alot!
  2. The stock series 1 looks a lil goofy. But with a hardtop and some racing bits this thing is pure sex. I love this build, just clean and aggresive too. Love it.
  3. QFT, I use anything from dollar general paint to Duplicolor Perfect Match. I like PM because of the obvious factory colorways, and a new Oreilleys opened up five minutes from my home. They're about $6 and change per can but i can get a couple maybe 3 cars out of a can depending on the size of the body. And they work brainlessly for me with proper preparation. Aside from that Painters Touch from Rustoleum works well too, just a lil different technique because of the 2x coverage.
  4. From what i hear molding a whole body at home can be a real drag. But if you can do it, I'm game. I have the 79 guts, chassis pan and exhaust but no body of that era..
  5. I'm in the same boat when it comes to that 79. Occasionally someone has a built-up version of it you may be able to rebuild. There was one that just ended last week I couldn't get, but was window shopping on. I have a spare 2.3 T from the Cafe Racer i'm not using. That is if you want to start accumulating parts in hopes of a bash restoration.
  6. For what it was, I love Stroker Ace and your build so far looks great. What paint did you use on the engine block, it has a nice effect to it. Keep up the good work
  7. I love hearing about other guys/gals getting back into things. I had a housefire as a kid, it's brutal but I'm relieved all seems to be well.
  8. Thanks, I def. do want to build a real SVO kit sometime soon. i really can't call this SVO anymore lol. Its just a fox mutt
  9. I'm glad I clicked on this one, that's awesome stuff. I don't know about the details you wish to add, but it looks killer to me as-is. no pun intended

    Buick GNX

I agree this one is super clean and very well detailed. Great car and you built it up nice!
  11. That's a super-drag for sure, hopefully you can get another and get back at it! Was that the Revell issue ?
  12. Very much so comfort level, same for the debate on colours as well.
  13. This one is a little bit different. Instead of the ugly SVO nose I'm going with a nose-swap from the '93 Cobra. Wheel treatment will be 1991 "Pony" wheels. The hood is a custom piece from the '90's convertible kit, with hood louvers cut from the 1990 Grand Prix Turbo hood and glued into holes I carved in the 'Stang hood. The engine is the supercharged 4.6L from the Mustang Mach III kit. The Paint is Apple Red with future for clear. I had a WIP going, and while the forum was out, I finished the car. In hinsight updating the hood, nose and tires the car lost most of what made it an SVO really.
  14. Very good data on these kits, good work gents. If I get into doing R35's it'll prove useful. Although I do need to start on my R32 favorites and go up from there. :-(
  15. WOW, now that's some kinda quick and dead rarity lol. Didn't know that story either, thanks for the heads up. Although if i stumble on one i doubt i could coin the investment I imagine.
  16. Hmm Maybe I can order a couple or three and hold on to them as kit ransom incase they become rare fast lol.
  17. Definitely a big upgrade over the stock rubbish on the box lol. Nice and slick, good job.
  18. This is some serious news on multiple levels. I may just have to look into that but sounds like I probably should decide ASAP
  19. That's looking BOSS Jon, everything is crisp and nice. Love that cockpit, and I agree about the lacking engine. Man this is sharp though.

    Audi R8C

I always find myself rooting for the Audi camp, even though they're the favorites to win in class. Something about their cars and their passion to be more than perfect, and innovate. Anyhow, super build looks beautiful as always. Great job.
  21. That's just beautiful all over. The modifications for the trim, the flares, putty work an chassis/engine is just smashing. Great stuff!
  22. Those are beautiful cars, and you did a nice job. underside is super clean too. great job!
  23. Your car looks great, the decal work is super and that engine is killer. Nicely done on this old one! And I know a lot of folks don't want to click links so I'll help ya out. Seems the Imageshack links are a lil goofy with the board layout.
  24. Finally got a good weekend of serious bench-work and did some more on this one. Shot the stripped chrome tree with my aluminum spray. An got my chassis rolling. The rear end is a lil bit fiddly, but went well. Forgot to snap pics though, but all the fit is nice up front as well. I also got the convert in primer, but I'll post some on that after this is closer to done. Still unsure of interior layout for the convertible.
