  1. http://s1311.photobucket.com/user/56ChevKRy/library/Maple%20Grove%20Oct%202013 Hopefully this link works to take you to the pics from yesterday. We got to talk to Jeg Coughlin outside his pit. Very nice guy. He answered my questions about his car. Did not act in a hurry to get away from fans.
  2. Excellent job. It looks great. I always liked the look of that car.
  3. Looks really good so far.
  4. It's been about 6 years since I've gone to Maple Grove to see the pros run. I went yesterday and it was great. The weather was great and the action was, too. Especially the final qualifying run of funny car when side-by-side was Courtney and John Force. Courtney ran 329 mph and 4.02 et and John ran 323 mph and 3.98 et !! It was great. The crowd went nuts. I hope some of you were there to see it, too.
  5. Excellent job. Looks great on the trailer.
  6. Time to dust off this car and get something done. The other day I got a shipment from Futurattraction which included the Wheelie Bar Housing kit and the Dragster Cockpit Controls. I am replacing the kit steering wheel with Scott's great looking piece that has separate grips which really give it the needed 3D look. But don't make the mistake I did. I made the necessary bends in the butterfly wheel and then glued on the grips. After handling it a few times to glue them on, one handle broke off from accidentally bending it back and forth a few times. The set (part # O-DCC-2) includes parts for two steering wheels and next time I will glue the grips on first, make the bends and then attach it to the steering column. The set also includes 2 brake handles with grips, 2 gas pedals, 4 smaller levers, and 4 larger levers. The wheelie bar kit looks really nice. I haven't attempted to put it together yet but I did measure some of the parts. Two straight pins are included that are .020" diameter, two brackets to be bent into shape with holes drilled, spoked wheels, and two pieces of telescoping tubing. The smaller is .032" diameter and the larger is .042" diameter (part #C-WBK-M1). I'm not sure that the spoked wheels included are correct for my '89 funny car so I will make 2 wheels out of black plastic sprue. Hopefully I will have pics to share early next week. Tomorrow I'm going to Maple Grove to see the pros make a couple qualifying attempts. Can't wait. I plan to take lots of reference pics and enjoy the fumes. HA.
  7. Beautiful work Bill. Just beautiful. Seeing it come together is great. If you had posted only a couple pics of the car once finished, we would have learned a lot less.
  8. Great builds. I love the funny cars. What are you working on now? Lord willing I'm going tomorrow to Maple Grove to see the pros run.
  9. Like being back in school, learning from a master. And I have a lot to learn. Thank you for the updates. Loved seeing your work at Gilbertsville, meeting you and learning from you.
  10. Looks really good. Really good. Show us more.
  11. Like everybody else, I'm glad to see you working on this build again. Your black Vette that is a replica of the car your father worked on looks great.
  12. Looks great. Love the different metal colors used on the engine. Your wife is probably saying - honey have you seen my blue nail polish ?
  13. What a transformation is right. Looks great. I also like the look of all the panels that make up the front fender. I think you should incorporate that into the paint job somehow. Looking forward to more.
  14. Looks awesome. Great job. Forgive my ignorance but is the Aperta just a convertible version of the GTO? How are they different ? How did you do the seat piping? Red wire ?
  15. Great job. Do you have any in progress pics?
  16. Looks great. Are those Micro Nitro wheels? Keep the updates coming.
  17. Excellent job. Love the Pro Stocks.
  18. I took my grandson to this show. He entered a primered Vette in the Jr category for fun. We had a great time staring at all the great builds including the GSL best in show car, Comp189's 1/8 scale builds (AMAZING), and Mario Cosby's Indy cars. We will definitely go next year. Thanks for sharing your pics.
  19. Soooooooo nice. Looks excellent. The only thing missing is the stain from the chipmunk that got flattened at the far end of Maple Grove.
  20. Lookin' great Scott. Will you cut the front to come off in one piece?
  21. Looks like a great start. I will definitely follow this as PS is one of my favorite classes. All the tech info by you guys is really appreciated.
  22. Looks awesome Dave. Looking forward to more. Hope to see you in Gilbertsville on 9/8.
