  1. Looks really good. I liked the other version of it too.
  2. A great start. That is an awesome magazine. So much creativity going on in those pages and they show us how they do it. Keep up the good work.
  3. Thanks Niko. Good info. Carl I wonder if vinyl whitewalls are different from dry transfer whitewalls. I don't know myself. I have used Shabo lettering on slicks on a couple of drag kits and had no problems. They have been on the tires for years. I always thought Shabo letters were a type of pigment on wax paper. That was my guess anyway. I never researched them.
  4. And being a beginner with this method it's easy to wind up with some not-so-straight lines. Thanks for the advice Marcos. I'll keep practicing and I will make it to one of the meetings of the model club soon.
  5. Dave the chute brackets look great and I love how you mounted the front hubs with brackets so they would be stable to determine where they attach to the frame. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Great job Mr. Scully. And your excellent photos really help.
  7. Good to know Hugh. How long did you let the enamel dry before applying Future?
  8. Looks great Norbert. I love Pro Stock.
  9. Good update Chris. I'm sure you'll nail it (or screw it or solder it or whatever ). I'm another one looking forward to the hinge results.
  10. I don't know if anyone has already posted this topic, but I thought it would be helpful. Please post the info you have gained on what NOT to do with paints, adhesives, decals, etc. that will let everyone know the long term effects of incompatible substances. I'm sure someone has painted, glued or decaled something that looked great, but down the road something went awry. I assume we all know not to apply lacquer over enamel due to the different drying times, but I shouldn't assume things, right ? Myself, I would like to know if spraying Dullcote over applied decals has a bad effect after a few months or years. Or does aluminum tubing show corrosion over time ? Please cut loose guys on anything long term negative. I look forward to seeing what you have to say.
  11. Great info Marcos. I have started doing this on my builds. I also tried it on my grandson's Vette. I sprayed on some Plastikote primer after scribing and applying some AK Interactive wash, but some of the wash is no longer visible. I guess I will have to rescribe and reapply the wash ? Also, how do you resharpen the scriber ? Any help is appreciated.
  12. Looks like a good idea. I need to build a spray booth.
  13. Beautiful work Rickard. Can't wait for more.
  14. Love the look of the pedals Scott. It all looks good.
  15. I think the color looks great and yes, the scratches look like they are in the base coat or primer. Hopefully you won't have to repaint the whole thing.
  16. Art - everything looks great. Looking forward to more.
  17. Keep the progress shots comin' .
  18. I also agree, great job.
  19. Great job Bruce. Thanks for the paint and decal info. How did you tone down the chrome rims ? A dark wash ?
  20. Another awesome build John.
  21. Excellent job. Excellent.
  22. Chris, the hatch is looking really good and the pulleys from Dave look great. He is a down-to-earth genuine guy. I got to meet him this year and he answered all my dumb questions. He is not the kind of guy that gives you more info than you asked for. He doesn't flood your brain with too much. He answered my questions and when I asked for more about a subject he gladly responded. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge and we are all glad he makes it available to us. Merry Christmas to all.
  23. I'm soaking it in and taking notes. Good weekend to stay in and work on it, eh ? With this snow storm moving in............
  24. Excellent work.
  25. Chris - awesome updates. How did you get those rivets parallel to each other ?? Mine would be all over the place. Great work. Don't rush anything.
