The Postman REALLY did not like me over the last couple days. He told me himself!! The kits are from Evilbay, the rims from my LHS.

Jeff, the "Eagle St's" are Shabo transfers... cleared the tire, put on the transfers, then the tire was dullcoated..

Nice Build!!! I always liked that paint scheme

George, thats plain old Tamiya Metallic Green over grey primer, right from the rattle can. I was very happy that it was real close to the F5 green I was going for, without having to spend the $$ on MCW rattle cans. I'm going to use it for my Chevy Rallye Green cars, too...especially since Mopar F5 green and GM Rallye green are the same color...

looks great!! If I remember correctly, Bahama Yellow and Butterscotch are the same, just different names for different manufacturers. kinda like In Violet for Plymouth and Plum Crazy for Dodge...

My most detailed model yet...Revell-ogram kit and decals. resin steel wheels from board member airbrush ayatollah. I tried using Revell redline tire decals, but they suck and broke and I didnt have any shabo redlines, so I stuck some Goodyear radial transfers on the car. Lets imagine it was restored in the late 80's..ok!? Genuine Mopar Street Hemi Orange engine paint. oversprayed the exhaust manifolds and negative battery cable just like the factory did it. Radio Shack wire for the heater hoses and Radio Shack diodes for fuel line and filters. added the drain hoses to the airbox using the same wire. ignition coil from evergreen round stock. embossing powder for carpeting. used Ceramic acrylic paint from Michaels to black out the grille and rear taillight areas. If you havent tried this, it works grear as the areas you dont want black on will rub right off. outside pic

Dupli Color Engine Enamel
LVZ2881 replied to RodBurNeR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dupli-color does make a can of Engine Enamel Clear that goes with the engine enamel colors. I have used it and found that it gives a nice gloss, but definitely needs polishing due to orange peel, but that could also be my spray technique. -
Marc...how did you get your TS-13 to look so glossy?? did you polish it, or just empty the can on the body?

heads up for the new BMF
LVZ2881 replied to LVZ2881's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The sheet I purchased from my LHS on Friday actually has the "New and Improved" printed on the "Chrome" label directly from BMF. There was someone on the Spotlight board who has been emailing them, and they told him they were aware of the problem and were changing suppliers. Looks like the supplier change worked. -
If your having BMF issues, look for the stuff thats says "New Improved" on the label along with the type of BMF.. it doesnt crack and it sticks real nice!!

Tools of the trade, and workstation
LVZ2881 replied to FujimiLover's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I work on an old metal top, 4 drawer desk..kinda like and old 70's govt office desk... and the best tool I have EVER bought was the $60 Food Dehydrator!!!! -
LOL Yup, this coming Tuesday..see ya there!!
-
got more done on the 'Bee..body is painted with a couple light coats of clear. I will BMF it then clear it again. Interior is done, used embossing powder instead of flocking for carpeting, engine is started and used authentic Mopar Street Hemi Orange for the color... its getting close, needs to be done for a club build on Tuesday......wish me luck.

I think you did ok too it looks really good! I picked up the resin bed, and I'm gonna throw it on a GMC stepside frame so I wont have to shorten anything..
-
Bandit Resins makes a shortbed conversion with the side trim already removed. its a nice peice and pretty reasonable price and he offers it with either a GMC or Chevy tailgate....
