Yep, I grew up with EMpire-7- for our phone number. Oh and want to call long distance then - sorry No Area Codes, Dial O and tell Her which City and then once switched over tell the next operator who it was you wanted to talk to and if it was a big enough City, their Address. Sticking with the Phone thing "Drop a Dime".

Wow, Almost left out one of my all time Favorites! Just give me the Readers Digest Version.

How 'bout Party Lines! For those that don't know, back then unless you paid extra you shared your phone line with several others and the act of listening for a Dial Tone was to make sure no one else was already on the line. Back then you didn't worry about the Government monitoring your calls. It was the Neighbors you worried about!

That woulda been fun to watch. I'm gonna guess you were in Ansbach.......? I was I K-Town and Bad Durkheim a Decade prior to your arrival.

Bill, I can assure you the short cut to Never being able to Date someone then was demonstrating that without being asked to while waiting for her when her Father was watching TV............. But other that a Home Brew remote Starter by the Cars owner, I've No Idea how anyone could start a car with one of 'em.

Welcome to the Forum Rick. Lot's of fellow Vets runnin' 'round here. Enjoy and thanks for Volunteering.

The Load Metallac "Clunk" sounding remotes wern't even Electric in Operation. They were Sonic. When you pushed the button a "hammer" hit a rod (worked like a tuning fork) that sent out tones at 4 different frequencies, one for each button. If you ever wanted to drive the owner of one of those Fancy TV's nuts all you had to do is shake your Key Ring while sitting buy the TV. It's change channels and turn on and off

Yep Snake you got the Group. The Song Title is I've Never Been To Spain. I like the Song, but it always seemed to me like it was almost ready to bust loose but could never quite make it.

Harry, I'm with Snake. I've Never owned a Cell Phone. Although in the late '70's when I worked on Radio Repeaters, for testing I did have a Radio Common Carrier "Phone" where you would call an Operator and they would dial the number. The system was Simplex so each person had to say Over when done with their part of the conversation - Sorta like CB for the Rich and Famous Another Phrase I grew up with that is still heard now and then but many have forgotten the root of is "That was an E Ticket Ride". As a Kid that grew up in the San Fernando Valley, when anyones Dad said they were going to Disneyland, it was the Kids job(s) to go to ALL their friends homes and look for Ticket Books with an E Ticket being the Top ticket. Good For the Best Rides!

The Snow got a tad closer than that to us Yesterday.

Excelent interior and exterior detailing. The Paint looks to be flawless and the Photography allows close examination of both. Stephan, Very Well Done on all counts.

Brad if you're gonna be hauling this build to Contests you need to include a Build Book with prints of each step and tooled bit, on the off chance someone didn't get to follow the birth of this, 'cause there's LOTS of details that'll never be seen or realized otherwise.

Jim I had an Uncle that went to Sears back ~60 or so and bought the Biggest Pro Tool set with Roll around and piggyback they had at the time. Rebuilt the Engine on his Car and hauled it all back when he was done. My Dad and him didn't get along very well from then on..............

Better Delta Cars than E Cars! I look at the Delta as the 21st Century version of the AVS Shadow, except they've had time to develop their car and started with a cockpit a Driver could "work" in. As to PC, well were it mine to choose I'd go with a P2 type formula. Limit HP/CI and let the chips fall where they may. The Majors could use it for Chassis Development or new Engine ideas, and the Privateers could buy prior years developmental cast offs which could lead to some fun Racing. I Frankly just don't care for Spec Racers running in top level Racing. Heck even GTD has Car choices and some Team Latitude.

That Paint Looks as Smooth as Glass!

All in All a really good Daytona 24 Hour Race. Except for Prototype Challenge which I sometimes wonder just what slot they fill in endurance racing. I as really sorry to see the Delta wipeout once again. It was looking like they finally had a real shot at not only finishing, but also Winning! Let's hope some of that Honda Tech is transfered to their F-1 McLaren effort..........
