  1. I can't recall the Dairy's name, but we had the clank of Glass Milk Bottles in the Mornings also until ~'62. We kids'd try to flag Milkmen down during the Summer for some free crushed Ice afternoons when they were headed back at the end of their rounds to get a quick cure to the Heat.
  2. Ray, That Diorama gives an interesting setting for your Panzernest. In "the field" I would imagine one of the wagon wheels might have been laid ontop of it while the other would have been leaning against it to make it appear more a part of the area. A well built Kit and Dio to be sure.
  3. For those that lived/grewup in the LA San Fernando Valley area in the 50' - 60's these 3 words will produce a Pavlov bell ringing like mouth Watering - The Helms Truck. It was a (in our area) Panel Truck from the Helms Bakery that had Fresh Bread and Pastries and Doughnuts. Curbside was the Breads and the rear had the Magical doors to the Sweets, and on Wed's only, Apple Strudel ......... The simple mention of Helms brings back that Wonderful blend of Smells.
  4. Ok, the Top seems wrong for a 914 to me, as does the nose angle. But I've never seen a Decked out 914, interesting.
  5. Hey Brian, isn't there a Fiat X1/9 under all those add ons and not a Porsche 914?
  6. Rob, Glad you discovered the Kit it came from. From that info it seems it was used prior to that in a less glamorous release of the same Kit. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/monogram-instructions/straightline-competition/monogram-chevy-el-c/
  7. Ray, seems a shame to enclose that after all you put into it. Could you do an exploded view using clear plastic to hold the parts seperate? From a tacitcal view point, that thing looks like it'd be a Steel Coffin for two that was already 2/3rds buried...........
  8. It might have been a Regional thing but along with the S&H Green Stamps we had Blue Chip Stamps also. Different stores had different stamps.
  9. For the Gravy to be made the way I always liked best it was put together in a Pan that had previously cooked Sausage and had bits n fat in it. Uuuummmmmmmm.......
  10. To You and your Friend - EXCELLENT execution!! So........... when are the Bumper Cars going to be placed in Motion???
  11. Welcome Richard. I Do Like the Way you commit a Digression, Nicely Done.
  12. A REALLY Tough cut of Beef that's been run through a Tenderized a couplea times, Breaded and generally Fried. Served differently it's also known as Chicken Fried Steak or Swiss Steak.
  13. What's Not to Like! Well Done.
  14. If the barrel is round with round cooling holes it's a 34, if it's slab sided with cooling slots it's a 42.
  15. Two terms that have come into common use in the last few years that although may be just Perfector their situations but confound me are FitMENT and Flavor PROFILE. I just can't understand the need for the capitalized portions.
  16. Jan, I looks like you did a good Job with the Paint. You might want to take it outside to show off that Finish. And if you have Pictures of the Interior prior to assembly it also looks like you did a good job detailing it also.
  17. THERE'S More to Come!? This was Wonderful already (and has been throughout the Thread) and you Ain't Done Yet.............. Oh My.
  18. Brian, That came out Really Well. Good Job.
  19. Hi There Sheena. For both you can use say a Scale 1/2" which'd be 0.020" which for BARE wire would be AWG 25 but if you were to wander up or down a bit, no problem. Now the whole thing gets turned over when Insulation to the equation. Say you want a Red + Battery Cable and a Black -. Then you, given the degree that you want to be accurate (keeping in mind - The If your Eye Likes it and it's Your Build, it's OK Rule) may want to get a Micrometer and check for overall thickness. Now for bare wire here's a conversion chart that you can convert Inchs to Wire Gages, AWG for the US. http://www.csgnetwork.com/wireconversiontable.html
  20. Bill if you're going to pop in eBay you might have to start a New Topic! For eBay mine is ....................RARE! Heck it's not "rare" to see 6 or 7 of the same kits listed with 1/2 listed as Rare.
  21. Mike You Nailed IT!
  22. "Whatever.........." and "It's Only For the Childern"
  23. I'm with Mark, WOW! Great resurrection.
  24. Yep, Signal Corps - 1 Circus Btn /7 Sig Bgde (Patch was what we called the Outhouse on a Hill getting hit by Lightning). What I miss mist about Germany are Smoked Bratwurst, Hard Rolls with Cracked seed Brown Mustard and a BIER - Prost! Just think Joe, those Kids are all in their 40's now..........
  25. They won't for a while. It's a poor excuse for either Bad Behavior or a way of grouping folks that really ain't a group - "All those (pick a group) can't help what they're doing/thinking because it's in their DNA.
