"Trek" can be used as a verb, though it's more commonly used as a noun.

Ford 34, a street hot rod who did not reach the finish line
Ace-Garageguy replied to Ulf's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Very VERY nice. Love that engine, and the overall look and stance are perfect. -
Guess I should admit to a couple of those myself. Though I bought them intending to build (primarily pristine versions of kits I remember fondly from my youth), some of them turned out to be so nice I doubt I'll ever do much with 'em, other than open them occasionally for a whiff of that circa early '60s new-model smell.

For anyone wanting to do a full-detail build, the vast majority of Panteras were built and delivered with the Ford Cleveland 351, sporting a single 4-bbl carb and rather simple headers that terminate in oval mufflers with two chrome tips each. The air cleaner housing was usually straight off an American sedan with the 351C as well. The gearbox was a 5-speed ZF unit. There have been several in 1/24 available from the resin aftermarket, and there's one in 1/25 scale in the Revell Shelby Series 1. There have been a number of hot-rod Panteras built over the years, a few back-halfed with tube frames, and some with various superchargers, single and twin turbos, 302 and 351W swaps, and even an LS or hemi powerplant or two. Then there are the really wild ones, like the Ringbrothers version... ...and the little known and very rare (around 35 built) final factory body revamp from '90-'92, below: The Roadster Shop even built an entirely redesigned frame that was intended to fix some of the chassis-flex issues inherent in the production cars. It ended up under the Kendig car. There are a few interesting concept renderings out there too...

Hit Me With Your Best Shot was released in 1980 by Pat Benatar.

Coldest night since I've lived in the sunny South, 10 deg F outside, 42 deg F in the house, but the frost patterns covering the entire window in the unheated bathroom this AM, with the rising sun shining through them, looked like spectacular prism art crafted by fairies. There's always something of beauty to be thankful for if you're open to it.

Great looking models of one of my favorite series of cars, ever.

Elusive were the racing submarines that we'd take girls to the beach to watch of an evening, equally as elusive as the fabled snipe, hunts for which are celebrated in story and song.

FYI and for what it's worth, both those kits have scaling and line/proportion errors that aren't huge, but might bother folks who are extremely familiar with the cars, or who just have finely calibrated eyeballs.

Inexpensive solvent based glue

Toluene is still available over-the-counter in bulk at hardware stores in some areas where MEK is banned. -

It's getting that way in some places. -
Like what you're doing getting a believable chassis under it, but REALLY like the shots in primer. It looks like a well thought-out factory styling exercise, when GM's stylists had lotsa talent, and weren't afraid of trying something different. Clean scribing work on the door lines too.

"Station Master" of a railway station is still a term in use in the UK.

"Winter wonderland" doesn't happen much in the deep South.

Fever over 101 deg. F is cause for concern, 104 is getting dangerous.

Yup. I know how it is.

Not so much an irk as an observation about a petty annoyance. The forecast low this PM is 10 deg F...the coldest it's been since I first moved to this area way back in 1969. Not really a problem, as I've lived in the Northeast and Midwest, and know how to deal with cold. The "irk" is that the 1930s-built house I'm in, originally built as a railroad crew-change bunkhouse, has for all intents and purposes zero insulation. And when it's this cold outside, I can't get it any warmer than 55 deg F inside in the daytime, 40s at night. Brrrrrr.

Which was one of the best looking pieces of work like that I've ever seen...and I liked it SO much, I finally snagged a relatively inexpensive promo to build it in 1/25. Ummmm...someday.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
Ace-Garageguy replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yup...and the six really responds well to Webers, a cam, and headers. Sounds lovely, too. Still, the most fun 240 I ever drove had a little Ford 289 in it; enough cam for a little burble, small Holley 4-bbl, headers (seems I recall there was a set for something else that was a bolt-in), 4-speed Ford box. Only weighed 50 pounds more than stock, but because of the new engine configuration, weight distribution went to almost exactly 50/50, and moved a good bit of mass off of the front tires. What had been a very nice handling car became a great handling car, with enough grunt to be extremely satisfying. Just don't dump the clutch at five grand or you'll be picking up splinters from the rear axles. -
