The mild custom treatment really works well on this, and it's a great color for it too. Makes me want to build one. Nice work.

Speakeasy days would have suited me just fine: at least you could kinda tell who the crooks were without a scorecard.

Court cases used to be concerned with silly things like jurisdiction, statutes of limitation, and the concept of "innocent until proven guilty"; today, not so much.

Looks good. Some people don't shoot primer on smaller parts, but I think it helps the look, especially when mold seams have been worked down, etc. Nice work.

Yup. KISS wasn't part of the design paradigm, nor was looking at how the rest of the world has been doing it for decades. There's a LOT to like about this kit, but that's another oddity fer shur. Interesting they chose "P-metric" radial sizing for the tire lettering too, as the car would have been delivered on plain ol' 'murican sized bias-ply rubber. -

What you've got will look good installed in the engine bay, and that's the most important thing. -

I want one of each...ex-specially the double-cab like the Air Force used.

School has certainly changed since I was a lad, with much less emphasis on useless things like basic arithmetic or being able to read and understand a printed paragraph.

The parts breakdown is very wrong. Kits that have separate blocks and heads, rocker covers represented correctly, and distributors that don't hover in space but are located correctly to a hole in the block (the block should be considerably longer behind the intake manifold, with the distributor on a vertical shaft coming up from it)...things like that, that go together pretty much like a real one, just make it easier to produce a realistic looking engine. But then I look at this stuff every day, so blobularity of kit parts kinda jumps out at me. Then again, most kits with older Pontiac V8 engines get a lot closer than this one did. -
Binoculars are rated as "power" with an "X", as in 30X means 30 power, but I routinely see folks call the "X" wrongly "times".

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)

Excellent idea. I've had one on the list of stuff I need to get, but never seem to follow through on. Since little car is going to be coming back to life but not used regularly, it looks like it's time. Thanks for the reminder. -

That stuff's not so much a sealant as a high-temp anti-seize that keeps those slip joints and other hardware from rusting solid. -

Broke down and bought a battery and insurance for my little orphan PT Cruiser. The trans is in perpetual "limp mode", and I'll have to drive it some to get it to set all the codes I need to pull out of its brain. I've been putting random batteries in it to warm it up every couple of weeks, but every time I disconnect the battery, it loses the codes...so I need to leave a fresh one in it that has enough beans to not discharge fully if it sits a while. Far as the insurance goes, I can't drive it to diagnose it it it's not insured, and with the expired tag, it's just screaming to get pulled over and impounded...BUT, if it's insured I CAN drive around some for diagnosis, aven on an expired tag. Happily for me, it only takes about 30 seconds online to add or remove a vehicle from my policy, and they only charge me for the days it's on. -

Which all just goes to show how really stupid the concept of using the CAN bus to link every electrical component in a car is. Simple systems like lighting, the horn, power windows, wipers, and others can function perfectly fine as stand-alones...but today's insane obsession with making every dammed thing as complicated as possible refuses to acknowledge that. The KISS concept is a thing for a reason. EDIT: I was really glad to see the fellas who liberated that poor oppressed vehicle were being socially responsible and wearing masks, too.
