  1. ^^^ There was something similar I posted above, but the ban on linking to the site where I found it kicked in. Pretty horrible exercise in tacky. (fixed the link) Ahoy there, matey.
  2. It's not quite so magical once you've experienced it repeatedly. Fairly often, a particular post will trigger the dreaded 404, sometimes even resulting in a temporary lockout from the site (which usually lasts about an hour). And often, when one post under one heading will trigger a 404, another post under another heading or topic will work just fine. The more you post longer, more detailed content, the more likely you are to get a 404.
  3. I was looking through some model RR parts listings and came across one that started with "Poor Quality". With so many people routinely trying to pass off substandard garbage as gold, I really have to applaud this guy's honesty.
  4. Belated congrats on getting through that. I hope you're up and running at 100% real soon.
  5. Geez, that's cold. +20 here is pretty extreme. At that temperature (-33), what kind of insulation do you have in your garage so you can get it warm enough to paint?
  6. Boy...talk about click-bait.
  7. So many fantastic cars that never have and probably never will be kitted kinda boggles the mind. With well over 7 billion people on the planet, you'd kinda think there would be enough interest in these striking yet accessible examples of Man's engineering ability and artistic expression to keep the model companies working 24-7. Oops...wrong planet.
  8. Those are 1/32 scale. They display magnified at least 3 times actual size on my monitor, in high resolution. I don't know how much closer you could need to be. And the point I was making was what's POSSIBLE, NOW, in high-res output...not implying this is current desktop output, but responding specifically to the phrase of yours I quoted above..." I'm not convinced 3D printing will ever reach that point". Well, it has.
  9. I believe the question was "can other, smaller model parts be incorporated into the supports, or are they an automated part of the process that are not controllable by the user?"
  10. There's a lot of knowledge out there.
  11. He built his own printer, and began modifications to it, very early in the game. Maybe he didn't print this model in house, but he's certainly qualified to speak very knowledgeably on the subject.
  12. I'd say Pico qualifies.
  13. The height issue should be a very easy fix, considering how this kit assembles. I need to get a few sets, and avoid the time-consuming monotony of doing all those lovely louvers.
  14. The 1900 is a considerably larger car overall than the Giuliettas, with a significantly longer wheelbase, and about 3" wider if memory serves. The engines, though both DOHC fours, are entirely different designs and don't look at all alike.
