  1. Love it! Black is my favourite colour (or lack of). Looks real mean that way. Didn’t even notice the “flaws “ until you pointed them out. Sometimes we’re our own biggest critics...
  2. Cool little car - nice work!
  3. Here's what is included in the box: I stand corrected on the instructions - need to pay closer attention to the back of the box: As for my Airbrush nozzle, I am such an Airbrush noob. Probably the last person to write a review of the product lol. I will be using my Iwata Neo Airbrush in stock configuration, if that answers any questions.
  4. Excellent build. Really like what you put together here. I have this kit in my collection that I want to use in a future build. Any tips, comments, or reviews you want to share?
  5. Nice! I went to school with a guy who had the 1:1, though his has more rust lol.
  6. That's got to be one of the nicest builds of this kit that I've seen.
  7. I love it!
  8. Unfortunately no instructions, other than 3:1 ratio of the clear and hardener. The only video I found on YouTube reviewing the product was in Japanese. That is not going to work for me.....
  9. I use cheap, white craft glue to hold my headlights and “glass” in place. Just Apply a thin layer with the end of a toothpick. Dries clear. Also does a decent job of giving gauge decals the appearance of having glass over them. As for picking up the headlights off of the work bench, suppose you can use some low tack tape like Frog tape. Strong enough to pick it-submissive enough to let it go.
  10. Thanks for the feedback guys. I ended up purchasing the set from a AK Interactive Canadian distributor. Since my order met the minimum requirements for free S&H, I thought I would take the chance. I have not found a Canadian Zero paint distributor, so those products are not cost effective (for me) to import. A shame since they offer great products. Importing paint (a.k.a. hazardous goods) across the boarder is difficult and very expensive. As for yellowing, this has been my experience with most clear coats over lighter colors. Especially white. I try to consider this in my builds. Thomas - Not sure about the products available in Germany, but my AK set was packaged with the Clear, Hardener, thinner, and two syringes. To date, I've used Testor's one coat Wet Clear spray, or Dupli-Color Paint Shop clear. Both provide a nice finish when used correctly. The Dupli-Color has been my preference for glossy finishes and comes in a Gallon, already pre-thinned. Will most likely go bad before I use the whole can. Cost is nearly the same as the AK set too. Still getting my paint booth set up in the new house, so it will be a little while before I try out the product. Will be interested to see how it compares to the Dupli-Color Paint Shop clear.
  11. Too bad. They weren't the cheapest place for me to order parts, but they offered a good selection and were easy (aka reliable) to deal with. Rare and dying qualities in a vendor that supports our hobby...
  12. I just went to the Xtreme Scale Detail website and the opening screen says they are closed. Granted I've been away from the hobby the past year, but did I miss a post where they closed shop?
  13. Has anyone tried this product? ANY feedback is welcome!
  14. Looks great! I heard these DTM cars are a challenge to build. Was that your experience?
  15. I like where this is going. Executing the chopped top on this kit is not as easy as it sound. I know that I have attempted to pull it off a couple of times and ended up putting the project back on the shelf for another day. Hang in there and keep up the good work.
  16. Looks like a typical (Canadian) Nissan: Rusty! Excellent weathering skills.
  17. Thanks for the kind support guys. What happened here was 100% freak accident. I was at the workbench trying to fix my sons broken toy with CA glue. Must have released an air bubble when I took the cap off because this big glob went soaring through the air, over my left arm , and onto the side of the freshly finished paint job . All of which was stored "safely" 3ft away from my work area. Couldn't recreate that shot even if I tried. Nothing I could do but let the glue cure and sand it off.
  18. Been following the build for a while-nice to see the finished product. Job well done-you should be proud!
  19. It pains me to do this, but I began sanding down the finish. The build did not survive the move well. Maybe this time I will have this build finished for the 2019 show lol.
  20. Thanks Lloyd - I was able to make a brief attendance at the show last year. Significantly more attendees than the previous year where my gold roadster won 1st place in the Street Machine category. We're in Dain City now, great little community a short distance from Lake Erie. Ready to get back to the bench after nearly a year. Still plenty to unpack, but at least with the new house I have a dedicated workshop for the hobby. Since we went to main floor laundry room, the old washtub and external vent/ducting is convenient for the purpose.
  21. Impressive skills. any more updates?
  22. I used a plastic pen for a shallow drive shaft tunnel on my channeled '29 Ford. Perhaps an old marker or something similar would help? No doubt, the suggestion of styrene sheet is the best solution, depending on your comfort and skill level.
  23. I've bought some of their products through eBay, only to find out after the fact that their stuff seems to be copies of other people's work. Unfortunate since they charge top dollar (at least through eBay). As already stated, the quality needs to be improved upon but they sell desirable subjects. FYI - I think they were previously known as seller "angelversace323", of which has been disabled by eBay. I assume as result of copying. No hard evidence, though the pictures in the past listings and subject mater are identical.
  24. Our household recycling bin usually is a treasure trove for discarded materials I sometimes use for fine details. Mainly for plastic or metal used in scratch building. Old Styrofoam containers can be used to replicate seals or weather striping. Discarded plastic mesh creates interesting paint designs. I have a broken HDMI cable in my toolbox that has been a source of fine gauge wire used for detailing engine bays. The list goes on.....
