I'm not sure what's more entertaining - the fact that you found a Taurus kit, or the fact that you were able to convert it to a Sable. Don't remember the last time I saw one on the road. nice work all the same-way to build something less common
Small update:
Decided to go white over red
Had to shave off nearly an 1/8th of an inch off the driver’s side bumper to fit the body properly. That doesn’t sound like much, but its still pretty significant for a 1:25 build.
My arm & shoulder are exhausted – spent the better part of Sunday afternoon polishing the Krylon paint.
A quick mock up:
I’ve got a surprising amount of Camaro kits begging to be built. Think I’m going to start with this one:
So far, all I’ve done is prep the body for paint. Undecided about final color yet, but I do know that I want to stick with the red interior.
Now a quick mock up after some Testors Lime Ice.
Clearly I needed to spend more time on the masking with all of the bleed thru. I’ll be busy cleaning things up, but you get the idea of where things are going.
Pat – why is this car smiling at me? Just kidding - Nice work! Had the pleasure of driving the stock version as a rental car in Germany/Austria a few years back while on a business trip. It was surprisingly fun going through the corners up in the mountains.
Fantastic – I love everything about it! I’ve been following along with the build from the beginning – the results are that much more impressive when you see the pile that you started with. Congrats
Couldn't agree more David. I've seen too many of these kits built with the kit stock (Lincoln) tail lights. I like my builds to reflect how I would build the 1:1. The plan is to use stock style tail lights for a more classic look. Ironically, my Merc tail lights were sourced from the AMT Ford pick up kit.
