  1. Looks authentic to me! nice weathering and execution
  2. Yup - that pesky activity get in the way of my model building too
  3. That's a well executed conversion - well done!
  4. Nice details!
  5. Wow - looks perfect! I’m impressed/jealous of the build quality
  6. Excellent work - I've been following this build from the beginning. The push bumper on the hauler is probably my favorite addition to the truck. You have the makings of a nice little diorama there.
  7. Killer job on this one - you should be very proud!
  8. Thanks Chris. I wanted to use a less common engine in this build, once I found out what was missing from the glue bomb. SBC in pick ups have been done to death…. The in-line 6 from the C1 Corvette is often referred to as the truck engine, so the ’53 was the best (cost effective) source for that engine that I could think of. Things go out of hand from there..
  9. That's some fantastic work you have going on
  10. Thanks for the feedback everyone, it was a fun little experiment. The guy who sold me the Corvette kit told me that I was wasting my time trying to fit it under the truck body. It was satisfying to show him the pics of the final result a few weeks later
  11. Thanks guys – guess this build is the result of international efforts lol. Here’s where I’m at now – the color is called Maple Nut. It’s a cool color that closely resembles a Datsun OEM from the ‘70’s. This particular color is fairly transparent and needs a few more coats. Unfortunately for me, I knocked over the paint bottle and lost more than 2/3rds of the paint. Looks like this build will be stalled until more paint comes in…
  12. All done!
  13. Started off as a ’50 Chevy glue bomb with missing chassis, engine, and interior. Used a Flea Market ’53 Corvette find to fill in the blanks. This was mainly an exercise to try the salt weathering technique and opportunity for some creativity.
  14. Here’s where I’m at after primer and base coat… More to come..
  15. Going to focus on body and paint on this one as the kit was originally designed as a battery operated toy. A great molded curbside kit. The body has only minor sink marks to address. Its perfect otherwise. The generic wheels are cartoon like, so I raided my parts box and found these newer Fujimi wheels that suit the body well.
  16. Nice conversion - reminds me of this promotional car: A guy in my old neighborhood converted one of these cars into a roadster, very similar to your build. Never did see the completed project....
  17. Nice progress - you're most of the way there!
  18. Nice work! A roof chop is not nearly as easy as it sounds. Keep up the good work
  19. small update - added some wash fro a little more realism.
  20. Excellent work-the visual textures look spot on. Congrats on the well deserved awards
  21. Another fine build. The weathering looks great too ?
