  1. This is the EXACT process I use, though I have not been doing so for 35 years. Happened to have the products on hand for my real vehicles and tried it on my models with positive results. Agree with some other comments in the thread - wax is not a substitute for a good wet sand/polish to remove the orange peel. It takes work and discipline to get a glossy finish. Short cuts will always show.
  2. Perfection - built just the way I like it
  3. Well done - the rusty wheel wells are VERY convincing.
  4. You nailed it! Love everything about this build
  5. Haven't posted in a while...her's how she sits today:
  6. Very nice build - I like the concept
  7. Thanks Lloyd - was hoping to enter this one into the Heritagecon show in a few weeks, but we sold out house and need to move into the new place for April 6th. Packing up the household is getting in the way of my builds.
  8. Great idea - I'd drive the 1:1
  9. Nice work- very realistic

    Well done!
  11. I like where this build is going....
  12. Nicely Done! I love how this truck is not a show queen and shows signs of use....as a truck!
  13. No much to report today - mocked up the chassis again to start planning on where to mount the front shocks.
  14. With the drive train in place, I noticed that the drive shaft hit the floor boards. Not surprising, but we're going to fix that.

    Looks great ?
  16. I use old credit cards too lol.
  17. For the seats, I'm going for a weathered or distressed leather look. Here's my attempt:
  18. ...Trying to clean up the chassis a little bit
  19. Thanks David. I made the paint masks from The Lazy Modeler work. This set was made for the Revell Tr-Five kits.
  20. That's something you don't see every day - I like it
  21. ...some old gift cards sacrificing pieces of themselves to help smooth over the chassis. Also a good source of material to help exaggerate the "Z'd" frame... Its crude, but it works.
