  1. Thanks for noticing Craig and to everyone for the feedback. Rods from the '20's and '30's have been done to death, so I really wanted to add my own details while adhering to the contest rules of no after market parts. With those details so small (literally), I'm surprised than anyone else noticed
  2. Excellent detail and execution. The colour is one of my all time Mopar favourites
  3. Great looking 'Rod (as usual). This '32 could have been a sibling to my '29 Roadster ?
  4. The chassis is looking great! I may be getting ahead of things, but what is the plan for the track nose grill? I was thinking of fabricating an aluminum style block off plate for my build, but I'm not completely sold on the idea. None of the various track noses in my parts box collection seem to have the right fit/shape.
  5. Thanks for the love Bruce! I was pleasantly surprised with the Bel Air wheels too- they give it a retro/'60's custom vibe... Here's some more pics I forgot to upload earlier. In this one - you can see where I extended the Corvette frame by approximately 14 scaled inches using some old plastic gift cards. Some minor clean up required. Here, I started modifying the back half of the Corvette floor pan to make a custom truck bed... More to come...
  6. Got a little more work done on the Chevy. Started building the missing interior tub using the Corvette parts... Mocked up the Corvette drive train. Had to notch the oil pan and move it forward between the rails to fit properly under the hood/clear the cab firewall. All that aside, I think the minor modification will be worth it after paint and final assembly. More to come!
  7. Thanks Peter (and everyone else!). I love your Avatar by the way!
  8. Ben - with the level of detail and craftsmanship being thrown at this build, its sure to be a winner. Keep up the good work!
  9. Thanks everyone for the feedback - much appreciated! I'm going to say "yes". I had two in my collection, and at least one came from our trade lol.
  10. I've been following this build since the beginning - well done! The diorama you have pictured is awesome and the Woody looks right at home there too.
  11. Here’s my new favorite paint job and current completed build. I normally struggle with glossy paint, so this is a real win for me. Paint is Testors Inca Gold, Testors White Pearl (firewall), and Duplicolor clear.
  12. Here she is – all polished up for her debut at Heritagecon (Hamilton Warplane Museum). Final completion was only a few hours prior to this shot, the night before lol. She won her class – Street Machines and Rods My favorite shot - displayed back at home, next to my Father's Day "Dad Rocks!" one of a kind rock lol.
  13. My version of the Revell ’29 Ford Roadster highboy. Paint is Testors Inca Gold, Testors White Pearl (firewall), and Duplicolor clear. No aftermarket parts were used on this build – everything was either modified kit stock, or sourced from junk around the house. The fuel block and turn signals were made from scrap plastic, while the fuel lines, spark plug wires and boots were sourced from a damaged HDMI cable. The throttle linkage was made from sewing pins. I cut out the center section of the grill and replaced it with some mesh from a food strainer. Lastly, subtle wood grain hand painted on the steering wheel and shift knob. Built over a 3 week period. Weather has been uncooperative lately, so kitchen table pics will have to do.
  14. Looks fantastic-good work!
  15. Kerry - what frame/chassis are you using currently? It looks like you're using a '34 body on '32 rails. I have the same Flintstone body and fount that it fits the AMT '34 Street Rod or ZZ Top Eliminator chassis like a glove. The "stock" AMT '34 Ford Coupe frame doesn't fit as nicely under this body. The OEM bumper brackets seem to get in the way
  16. LOVE IT! Everything about it is perfect. The Hillbilly kit is such a great parts resource for scratch building Hot Rods like this. I used a modified version of the chassis for my vintage racer build with the Jimmy Flintstone body and plan on using the left overs for a Rat Rod project. Keep up the great work on the Rod builds....
  17. Nice! He weathering really suits the build too
  18. I like it - you don't see many '33 Willys built this way...
  19. I’ve decided to build a ’50 Chevy 3100 for my next build, using this glue bomb I scored off of eBay. I knew it was missing parts when I bought it, but what I didn’t know was that the kit was missing the drive train, chassis, and interior. So…..I’m going to use this ’53 Corvette kit (Flea market find for $5!) as the donor for the missing necessities. The Corvette frame is going to need some tweaking….. After cleaning up of the body, a quick mock up…. …really digging the look of the ’57 Bell Air wheels! I may swap over to the Corvette wheels before things are finished, but I’m confident that the White Walls are staying. More to come!
  20. Looks perfect!
  21. Nice goodies! This should be good.....
  22. Nice transformation!
  23. Cool stuff-can't get enough of TROG!
  24. Nice work! Especially good job on the tires-its not as easy as it sounds to melt the tires and get a convincing deflated look. At least not for me.
