  1. I like to use thined paint (thined glue would work too) so it will not dry as fast, sift on a thick but even coat of flocking then gently tap it down with my finger to "set" it in let dry good then dump off the left overs. seems to work great for me.
  2. sorry for the loss of your pall.
  3. nice camero andy. I agree with the others add a new technique once you get the hang of another, thats what I do. I'm 41 but have never been a consistant builder so you and I may be about the same level. I've tried bare metal foil for the trim on two cars so far and can't get it smooth but I'll keep trying.
  4. check out LED lights at lowes they are not cheap but are available in natural daylight intensity which makes colors look as they would outside and they are pretty dang brite. look at other lights while you're there you should be able to find something to fit your needs. hope this helps.
  5. now we're talkn. cool stone work. just what would 4 subs do in a confined space do to 2 rats?
  6. you can have the worst day possible and there is nothing in this world that will bring you out of your funk like a dog. sorry for the loss of your four legged friend.
  7. this site is the best tool you could have. if you get to a point with a build where you don't know how to do something just ask theres great folks here that can tell you how, what ,and where to get the job done. you will need a pinvise {kind of a small manual drill} and small drill dits (lowes in dremel section)for things like wiring engines.
  8. very cool.
  9. you could just about swim in that paint. awesome job.
  10. first we send coupon then we send token...
  11. WINTER? man, you'er killing me. seriously though, it's looking good. This build has me on the edge of my seat wanting to know how those colors will work with the whole theme.
  12. I have also used this stuff as said before it is very thick and will mask details, it's great for just about everything except models. I just tried some krylon primer on a 68 charger and it seemed to work ok, although it seemed almost too thin and eazy to sand through. anyone else tried krylon?
  13. saw some acitate at hobby lobby that might work for your rear window it's by the metal tubing and xacto knives. comes in smoke clear red and green. cool model btw I love those street machines.
  14. good show. wish they would spend more time on the guests though.
  15. I resemble that remark maybe a white china pincel would work? couldn't clear it though as they are wax or grease. just something that poped into my head as Iwas reading the thread.
  16. what are you painting them with? I've read on other posts that alclad will dull if cleared.
  17. haven't tried it on styrene yet but I have a small butane torch I got at lowes. it has a push button start after a few seconds you can shut off the flame and just have the heat, it can be locked in the on position and can stand on its own. WARNING even with the flame off it can cause serious burns.
  18. ordered clear parts for a 68 charger didn't hear anything at all from them until i both called an emailed them. as it turned out the parts came in the mail that day while I was at work.
  19. Very nice. Love the black.
  20. Ok, trip to cali understandable. Now you're just teasing us. PAINT,PAINT,PAINT,PAINT.......
  21. Just don't feed us after midnight. Don't get us wet. And keep us out of the sunlight.
  22. Thanks Steven. I'll keep an eye out but it's those high prices that keep me from doing figures.
  23. An old testors paint can with a bit of tape a piece of wood with four nails in it or a piece of thin wire run through a head pr tail light hole. Recently found something to called twister grip at wallyworld. They are wire covered with green foam rubber used to hold coiled extension cord or whatever, haven't tried then yet though.
  24. Very nice builds. I love the hearse and the one below it ( can't remember the name ). The "driver" is awesome, where did you get it? Welcome and enjoy.
