  1. That kit was recently reissued as an AMT offering, the car on the front is exactly the same but the box background is black at the top and red toward the bottom.
  2. My mom worked in pre-press for about twenty years, I'll ask her tomorrow what was in the plate washer where she worked. From my very limited knowledge of piddling around there on the weekends the plates had to be exposed to UV light before the coating could be removed.
  3. The engine from the AMT 60 Starliner custom version or the AMT 67 Fairlane 500 would replicate the medium riser magazine car engine.
  4. I'll have to see of I can piece a whole on together, I've picked them over a bit. My goal is to build one mildly modded Cobra and then use another to build a King Cobra with a resin nose I have so I'll need both of the Cobra style taillight panels but will have an extra Cobra grill.
  5. It took them a decade to do it, they fixed the 57 Ford pretty quickly so hopefully they're getting around to it.
  6. No problem, I had bought a ProModeler GT and two yellow Cobras and had to recently buy two new green ones to get the corrected body.
  7. The early ProModeler GT version and the yellow Cobra versions have a slightly different body than the green car that's out now, they changed the rear quarter panel area because they got it wrong the first time. There's a thread about it somewhere.
  8. They aren't resin but check out this link for a wide range of tractor tires and rims. http://www.dakotahtoyparts.com/web/index.php?siteid=313&pageid=1989
  9. That's about average if not a bit better. Unless you're covering really big areas with it most of it will end up as trimmings. I try to be economical with my pieces and use as small a piece as possible to cover an area to mitigate waste but losing some is the nature of the product.
  10. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!! Seriously, I'd be down for several of these.
  11. Elmer's makes several types of glue, the regular white glue for paper and kids things and the tan wood glue.
  12. Your paint scheme reminds me of the original King Kong monster truck. http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/98/32/3e/98323e55dd761f0836657262ca1598f5.jpg
  13. Wow, why so salty? I know they're available in resin, that doesn't change the fact that a plastic version would be nice. I have a lot of resin and will buy more but I'd still like to see mass produced versions of these kits.
  14. Again, a lot of the reissues are new to me so I'll continue to buy them for now, whether it causes that particular company to ever tool another new kit is largely out of my control. I will continue to support Moebius with my dollars and hopefully they will see fit to continue to produce more semi kits. Personally, I hope whatever they make is an older truck because the new trucks really don't interest me enough to buy large numbers of them. I would buy multiples of a CL9000, Mack B model, Mack R700, Pete 379, Pete 350, Needlenose Kenworth, Bullnose Kenworth, Crackerbox GMC, and several more where I would only buy one new Kenworth, Pete, or Freightliner.
  15. The DM800 tooling still exists, it was out as a Model King kit a few years ago.
  16. I've bought the new Moebius kits, not just big rigs but everything automotive they've done and all they need to do to get me to buy more semi kits is to put them out. Me buying reissues doesn't keep me from buying new kits if they're out there. I don't see how people buying reissued semi truck kits hurts the market, if anything it should show that there is a customer base for big truck kits in general. Round2 is not going to do anything new any time soon but buying their reissues, which are new to me as most haven't been out in my life time, will hopefully fund new kits in the future.
  17. I can't imagine why we wouldn't see the R model again, they seem to be going through every tooling they have in their inventory. I'd wager within the next few years we see every big truck they can cobble together trotted back out, Autocar, Transtar II, 2974, Cruiseliner, all of them.
  18. Most of the actual engine parts in that kit were cast from parts out of the Johan Boss Hoss Mustang drag car. That maybe be a little easier to come by cheaply in your are, just throw on the intake and aircleaner from the Revell Torino and you have a great looking stock Boss 429.
  19. Things that happen on the road stay on the road, (PG-13 content) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Wqc__mHkpI.
  20. Are you trying to kill me? I already weigh 400 pounds, too much of this and they'll have to roll me in the Walmart.
  21. I'm glad to see the Papa truck but it's makes the over $150 I spent on two of the blue AMT K100s without the ramp body a pretty bad investment.
  22. Okay, I didn't know a wrecker would tow a truck a distance that would require a sleeper. I had wondered if some of them had seating instead of beds since the towed vehicle might have more than one person in it.
  23. What is the sleeper used for on a wrecker? It doesn't seem like there would be much opportunity for sleeping in one since their trips are short and I can't imagine they get much use on a crash scene.
  24. I know they're a modern wheel and absolutely correct for what they are, I was just pointing out a way to get a period correct look for older trucks.
