Mike, I thought the same thing about the store at University. It was huge and did all the gaming stuff and rc stuff but they closed about two years ago. I don't know why Charlotte can't keep a hobby store in business, it doesn't make any sense.

According to Wikipedia the Cummins NTC-335 was standard equipment in the B73, maybe a newer transmission was swapped in at one point.

I noticed that too Mike and I meant to message you about it. I stopped there a lot and spent more than I want my wife to know about. I had talked to David at one point and he said he made most of his money off of rc stuff so I thought they were going to be around for a while. For me it's going to be the Hobbytown in Mooresville, Rock Hill is too far out of the way.

There are a few on there now for closer to $40 and promos are even cheaper.

A friend of mine at work had an early 2000s Dakota sport with a 4.7 at it would get down the road pretty good, it was almost as fast as an S-10 Extreme another guy had.

The STS website has them listed for $65, that's as cheap as I've found them.

If I see something interesting here or in other searching I bookmark the page and then change the name of the bookmark to what is relevant about it and then move it into a folder I created for model car stuff. This works great until your computer dies.

I've stopped to help a few times when it's obvious an accident actually happened but I won't for a random stopped car, you just never know anymore if you're going to get robbed or shot for trying to assist someone.

That's the one I was talking about, I didn't know that it was included with the mixer parts or even in the Paystar kit. I had bought an old DM800 mixer buildup and just knew it had a different rear than the tractor kit.

Here is a picture of the bed side I made compared to the 72 Chevy longbed. I think I needed to make the front about an 1/8 of inch longer but it's close, the rear will get about that much longer when the taillight panel is added.

The drive for super detiling slows me down too, what I've done is kind of prioritize what I want to build. Some subjects I really like will be super detailed and others will be quicker to help maintain momentum. My biggest struggle is that once my idea kind of begins to take shape and I can kind if see it the drive to finish kind of goes away.

Chevy long beds are 8 feet long, they add one foot in between the cab and rear wheels and six inches after the rear wheels. I made one with one of the fleetside beds, I'll try to get pictures when I get home.

I have the Model King issue and I think it has the camelback rear suspension, I'll have to check when I get home. The mixer version has basically a solid rear end with walking beams.

AMT did snap kits of these so the correct rear bumper is out there if someone has an extra.

Depending on the options you could get the V6 you mentioned, a 4.7 liter V8 and a 5.9 liter V8 that was basically a continuation of the 360 V8 Dodge had used for decades. The easiest option is to use the engine out of the AMT custom 71 Duster, it has modern valve covers and heads. The block is a bit small for a 360 so I would use the new heads and valve covers on a 360 block, all you need then is to fab up a fuel injection setup. The steel wheels out of Monograms newer 70 Roadrunner kits will probably work in a pinch.

The DM800 was out fairly recently as a tractor from the Model King.

I just put two of the 69s on preorder from Model Roundup and there was nothing hinting at a shortage.

As a former retail employee let me explain why stores won't sell busted things at a discount. When something on the floor gets broken or damaged the store claims it as broken and gets their money back from the manufacturer, at Kmart we had a girl who's entire job was to collect the UPC's from damaged items to get refunds. The manufacturers evidently put up with this to keep their items on the stores shelves. Not discounting broken items also discourages customers from breaking items to buy them cheaply. Once the claim had been filed for the item part of the agreement with the manufactuer was that the item would be completely destroyed, once a week or so we drug all of the claimed items out into the back parking lot and smashed them with sledge hammers. I've broken down dented file cabinets, dented microwaves, gun cabinets with cracked glass, various small home appliances, furniture, all kinds of stuff. This was also intended to deincentivize dumpster diving, everything we threw away was broken beyond use.

The suspension from the Autocar dump truck would be nice, I could use 15 pairs if those rear axles.
