  1. Thats a great idea for sanding and polishing as you said. Thanks for sharing.
  2. I just spray with aqua gloss clear then spray the Alclad over that. I keep the air brush at an angle and I get grerat results. Never tried window trim with it though. I may have to try this just for fun. Also instead of using BMF i use Micro Metal Foil Adhesive and reynolds wrap tin foil. A bottle of micro adhesive and a box of tin foil will build a bunch of kits for a fraction of the price of BMF.
  3. For me it takes just as much time to tape off all the trim and moldings to spray with Alclad as it takes to just foil it. Put it on cut it take off excess. Also you prevent the risk of the Alclad from running or seeping under the tape unless you spray a little clear to seal it first. Then you are adding more prep and dry time with that process. This is a great question you have asked. I hope more people awnser it as I would like to get their reasonings. I hope this helps.
  4. LOL you can spend a week watching his video then you want to run out get a kit and everything he uses tyo do one and then have to watch them all over again to figure out what would be the best way to go since there are so many ways to do the same thing. Lots of options for sure.
  5. Nice tip. Thank you for sharing.
  6. I use Modge Podge white glue and pinning for my mock ups. After I get everything ready I soak in warm soapy water overnight and the glue desolves.
  7. HA HA! It was that very video that made me run out and buy it.
  8. I have yet to use my can that I got but I did ask Dr. Cranky if he decants it and he said no. Streight from the can only. If he uses stuff like pearl powders or any kind of bling in his clear he uses Model Masters High Gloss Clear for the airbrush. So I will be spraying it from the can as well as soon as it warms up. Hope this info helps.
  9. nice tip thx for sharing

  12. Glad to be of assistance. I like it when I can recomend someone for their great work. Pays off for everybody.
  13. I ordered fro m the guy on ebay and he is grerat to deal with. Quick shipping and awesome gauges. Will be buying more for sure from him.
  14. Thank you Donn. I know this to be true if it is coming from you.
  15. I am familiar with sanding and polishing a clear oat. I was wondering if it works on just paint (enamel or acrylic)? or will it ruin the paint color?
  16. I do what I gotsta do lol.
  17. After watching the same video I ran out to get some as well. After 6 hours of riding my motorcycle around to different paint, auto supply and hardware stores I found it at a local paint store that I thought had gone out of buisness years ago 113 miles away. I got so excited to use it but it started to snow on me on my way home. 5 days later the snow stopped but the temps dropped to single digits and have stayed that way for the last 5 weels. Needless to say I am still quite excited to try this stuff and I am really glad to hear a report from you like this. Makes me feel it was worth going after.
  18. If the windows are scratched or foggy I usually sand them down with a polishing pad set. Then I dip them into Pleadge with future and let it dry. I do this step to every window I use any ways but it will help bring back a nice clear glass look.
  19. I have never used it in an airbrush but distilled water is what I would use to thin it since its a water based paint
  20. I use this a lot on interiors. With it going on flat I use different clears ( Satin, gloss, high gloss) to accent different features and add depth. Great find there bud.
  21. I will let you know and no problem.
  22. Jc, Bennymacattack on youtube uses this stuff almost exclusively. He has a video showing his process and he does not use a primer. Outstanding results every time. He has just done his first model with Future added as a clear coat but besides that, all have a beautiful shine and clean smooth finish. Check him out. I also was so impressed by his work I bought a pearlized white creatix airbrush yeasterday for a 55 chevy convertable. I hope to shoot it a little later today. can't wait.
  23. I will believe it Longbox55 I love that stuff!!
  24. Great tutorial. Thanks for the idea.
