1932 Chevy Standard Six Roadster (AMT 1:25) in progress
Eric Macleod replied to artecar24's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Another great looking Chevy. Looks like a very steady hand was required for all that body striping. -
Landman, You have nailed this one. I would be proud to display it on a shelf at my house. The interior looks like you are ready to go for a drive. I like your colors and execution on this one. It gives me great pleasure to know you implemented a couple of my tongue in cheek suggestions. This is a great model in every way. So....what is the next restoration? Eric

Ooo La La! I really like the color. I have a friend here in Michigan who has a 1:1 version of this car in the same color. His is sort of a beater. It only scored 99.75 points last time it was out. Slacker. You might look at reference photos but I think most '41 Continentals have gold toned interior plating. That would sure pop with your tan interior. I like your model a lot. Well done.

I promise photos soon. Just have not had time to sit down and upload them. Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Oh yeah...long and low. I like this one a lot. You have done a great job on this one! You have to be proud.

1932 Chevy Standard Six Roadster (AMT 1:25) in progress

Excellent! This is a very good kit and one I really enjoyed when I built it...as a high school student! I even used the same colors, albeit not as well managed as you have done. -
Since the last post I have made some considerable progress. The car is painted and top material installed. I am now scratch building the interior.
-
Great start! I like the color scheme.
-
Fabulous! Steady striping has been done here!

(NEW Update! 6/19/15) IN progress, ICM '13 Model T For

You are nailing this one Art. Well done. -
I cannot wait to get my hands on a couple of these. I will build one as a 1911 and the other will be modified to duplicate my own 1:1 1913. HOORAY for more Model T's.

I have always wondered what a '41 Lincoln would look like if the front fender line was extended all the way to the back fender...like a '47-8 Buick. Just a thought for you to play with. Keep us posted.

1935 LaSalle convertible coupe - 3d printed at home Aug. 30
Eric Macleod replied to my66s55's topic in WIP: Model Cars
My hat is off to you. I understand the naysayer's viewpoint, yet totally understand the problems you have had creating something that looks acceptable from scratch. I have had the same problem with my 34+ year build (not kidding) of my Cord L-29 Phaeton Sedan. You have boldly taken some action to get a model of the car you want. I love it and really look forward to witnessing the future unfold before our eyes! -
This continues to be most amazing. The work to create these radius must have been horrific.
-
Been there, done that! I still think you are making great progress. Certainly better than my again-stalled Duesenberg! Keep up the good work and get her done.
-
Yes my Pilot Rays do articulate with the front wheels. This was tricky to get them aligned but adds a wow factor to the car that nothing else can match...other than a good paint job! You are making great progress. I continue to be impressed. I really like the interior color scheme. E-
-
Yup, you have nailed it. Out of curiosity, do the wheels still steer? If they do it might be fun to add my favorite accessory, either 1:1 or in scale-dual Pilot Ray driving lamps. I did this with my '30 Cadillac 452 Madame X Convertible Coupe a few years back. I really like the dollies you have in your photo. You should do a tutorial on your garage accessories!
-
I like it. I really did not mean to create so much extra work for you but WOW does it look good. While I almost always like the look of a car with blackwall tires better than whites, I tend to agree with Slusher on this one, especially when comparing the front and the rear of the car. Or...consider a compromise ala a '30 Franklin Deauville Sedan that has a VERY narrow whitewall. This could be accomplished by stripping the black paint off the raised line on the outside edge of the whitewall. Can't wait to see the end result.
-
This would look sweet with blackwall tires...just saying. You are making great progress.
-
Love it!
-
Let's see how you are coming. I look forward to the next installment.
-
The chassis looks fantastic. I look forward to seeing the interior colors on this one.

Art, Your update looks great. The "ears" that operate the throttle and spark linkages are really something to see. Well done. I look forward to the next installment. It looks as if you are just about there. E- -
Plastic A.D.D. strikes again... The tale of 2 Model A's
Eric Macleod replied to JTalmage's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I like where you are heading with these. Where did that neat DeVaul windshield come from? -
In the two cents worth department how about a compromise-something like a round edged trunk like a '34 Packard Dietrich Convertible Victoria but squared up shape? I would also play around with the notion of dual rear spares just for fun. (and of course another week of building up another wheel!) Looking good. E-
