  1. Oh my. This is just super cool. Fantastic job on the paint.
  2. I continue to be amazed by this model. Your creativity and workmanship are first rate.
  3. Just looking at the images the car sure looks like sort of a root beer color. Rest assured that the true color is black.
  4. I made the final decision. Spray it. While it is not yet dry this gives you an idea of what it will look like.
  5. I think because of the scale argument I am going to go ahead and spray paint the car then go back and beat it up with some weathering. You can see the edge along the top of the doors is quite uneven. That is purposeful ala Tom's excellent van. I will have to explain that at the show. I'm going to try to make it to Detroit next month. As I'm not too far away it would be a good venue. You can also see the interior is pretty much done also.
  6. I wonderedif anyone would ask me ioabout that. Here it is as I get it ready for the winter. T
  7. You are probably right. I've been thinking about that idea. I'm also thinking if I thinned the paint a lot or decanted it from a spray can I might get just the right effect. Plus, there's going to be quite a bit of weathering done before I am finished. Thanks for the thought.
  8. This is super cool. I'll look forward to seeing the process.
  9. Pretty phenomenal model you have going here. Your workmanship and attention to detail is most impressive. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
  10. Here are my freshly primed fenders.
  11. While it probably doesn't look like I got much done tonight I made a lot more progress. The entire body was sanded and I added the headliner. There are a few more details like interior door panels and a little more work on the windshield header. Otherwise I an ready for some primer. Speaking of which have a look at what happens when you grab the wIrong can of paint. If it's a job worth doing it's worth doing twice.
  12. LDO that was exactly the feedback I was looking for. Thanks. Wayne thanks for the kind words. The car seems to be fighting me every step of the way, just likethe real car did when I brought it back to life.
  13. Wow looking at the car through the camera there is more work than I thought. I'm going to keep at it.
  14. So here we have the roughest of rough mock-ups but one can clearly see there will be a car here when I'm done. There's a lot of sanding ahead of me. I am seriously considering hand painting the cat with a brush. That is the way dad's car was done in the 1950s and though it may not be the best way to finish the model it would be the most authentic. What do you think?
  15. I really like this one. That you have done a superb build has not hurt my interest in the model. I too would like one of these on my shelf. Great color choice by the way! Eric
  16. Very cool project. I can't wait to see how it comes out. I have had the resin parts to convert one of these into a Montego GT but have not had the spine to take the project beyond the collection of parts stage. Keep us posted.
  17. Better you than me! Based upon the photos of the Lincoln there is a bright future for this model.
  18. I made some significant progress this evening. I have the chassis pretty well done. While I planned to use Buttera fenders it became very obvious during this mock up that AMT fenders will work better. I have a lot of fitting to do and significant body work as well but it is starting to look like a car. Clearly this is a work of compromise but I will be proud to display this one . Thanks for looking.
  19. Stunning. I don't know what else to say.
  20. I have built one of these in yeas past. This is a very challenging model and beautifully done.
  21. Sorry if you have already addressed this question but I'm wondering about the source of the windshield. Wheels are Johan Mercedes right? This is one beautifully executed project. I look forward to seeing your progress.
  22. Excellent. I like the choice of color on this one. Let's see more.
  23. This is excellent. I like all the Model T's we are seeing on the board right now. It is an interesting change of pace from the long line of excellent '32 Fords we had been seeing for a while. Keep up the great work.
  24. Another update. I am working on engine details. This is a little difficult because it is a dark green engine with black accessories. It is correct for the way Ford did things but not terribly visually exciting. Some dirt and grease will help.
