  1. Progress is slow but I am getting there. I am almost done with the last few tidbits for the interior then I can wrap up that part of the model. Tomorrow I plan to install the windows, dash and the steering wheel. Then at long last I can attach the body to the chassis.
  2. I think this is exceptionally well done. I think your engine compartment could serve as a reference for the rest of us.
  3. This is really pretty. Great choice for the colors. I built one of these when I was a teenager and after looking at yours I have a desire to take another crack at one. Thanks for the memories and for posting this beautiful model.
  4. The completed rear seat. I am very happy with the appearance of this piece.
  5. Thanks Charlie, both for the compliments and the concern . Amelia is supposed to be back to school today but they had a weather related cancelation. I want that for work!
  6. The rear seat is complete ant the first coat of paint has been applied. Lots of detail painting to do but this is a big step done. The front carpet has been reapplied and touched up. Probably not necessary as it will be largely invisible but I will know that it's there.
  7. After test fitting the body I realized that I would have to move the seats back. .A bit more paint and carpet flocking should finish it up.
  8. I am now at the point in this build that I consider the desert. One detail I have been looking forward to building the most is the rear seat and radio consol. This is an aspect of the car that really set it apart from many other Duesenbergs that I have seen. Here it is in mock-up form. I have set a new goal for myself. Finish the car before I reach one year since I initially posted this topic. Wish me well on that as this one seems pretty happy being all apart.
  9. That is a build I would have been proud of had it taken me a month to build!
  10. Two sick daughters with one in the hospital derailed me again but I have made a lot of progress. I still have to trim the rear fenders and complete the rear seat but it is coming together.
  11. Kia? No loss there IMHO. An Airflow would be cool though.
  12. I like what I'm seeing here. It will be interesting. Very subtle.
  13. This is truly amazing work. This is the diorama I wish I had the skills to build.
  14. I did not know about the 1:24 Citroën. I think I need one!
  15. This one was chewed at the "hands" of my son's newly acquired Golden Doodle. Nice dog but very much of a puppy.
  16. I don't have all the pieces and am fairly certain that I don't want them in the future! I appreciate all the comiseration.
  17. Yup, a rare resin transkit body for a Franklin Mint '34 Packard Dietrich. Maybe I can make a '32 Phaeton out of the scrap. Oh well.
  18. I agree. There's nothing boring about this model at all. You make me want one of my own. .though I do not think my skills are any match for yours. Not sure I have a big model like this in me. I sure admire your work with this one.
  19. I realized that I would have to have the rear seat in and out several times before I could move on to fitting windows and doors. A seemingly small but important detail has been my focus for the last couple evenings, the armrests for the rear seat. There are three of them and they are identical. I made them by laminating two pieces of styrene and letting them cure overnight. Tonight I cut them to shape and tomorrow will sand then add the leather armrest details. Then I have one other major detail-the radio. Can you believe it? A radio, factory installed in 1932! I am also going to add the under-runningboard antenna as well during final assembly. These pieces don't look like much but should play the part well.
  20. Fantastic model. I am blown away by the wheel covers.there is clearly more than wire wheels on Classic cars.
  21. Here is where the project is today. I'm going to try to get the windows installed tonight and maybe get going on the rear seating area.
  22. I decided to do a little bit more with this project. While I could go ahead and paint the body I realized that I would not have been happy with the appearance. I still have to clear coat the touch ups but I am much happier. Now the goal is pretty simple. Finish the car. My self imposed goal is January 31. Done. We'll see. I know this looks like a previous photo but it simply takes me back to where I was pre-damage. I am almost finished with the interior and am fairly happy with it given that the entire job is scratch built. Photos coming when my battery is charged.
  23. How are we coming folks? I am plugging away at the Duesenberg. Posting is coming soon.
  24. Bad auto correct. Very bad.
  25. Great model all around. I echo the comments on your wheels. One other variation you count consider is a Deluxe Phaeton which is the 2 door version of the standard 4 door Phaeton. Is this one copra over chichle drab?
