  1. Great looking speedster there. I'm excited to see what can be done with this kit.
  2. I agree with everything that has been posted so far. This is a really beautiful model suitable as reference material for the rest of us.
  3. A while back I thought I heard a rumor that ICM was considering moving the Packard kit and the Mercedes 770 up to 1:24 scale. Can anyone out there either confirm or refute this rumor? Thanks in advance Eric
  4. Very nice clean uncompromising model. My compliments.
  5. My all time favorite car is the Duesenberg J. I guess I am going to be the voice of dissent and say I like the car and would add that your work on this sows ear is fantastic. Great job all around. I HAVE to get one of these.
  6. So here is the story, which I have experienced first hand working for an auto upholstery shop. The owner (coincidentally of a 29 Rolls town car) had the car repainted, did some chrome work, got it running and driving, and had us upholster the front seat and add carpet throughout, as that was pretty grubby. On the other hand he just couldn't bring himself to replace the totally original upholstery in the rear passenger compartment. Perhaps the custodian of Cato's Rolls felt the same way. There's your reasonable back story. By the way, the owner of the real Rolls in this story won his class.
  7. This is great. Can I park next to you?
  8. I just read all the way through the thread. I cannot believe my eyes. All of the others have used up all of the good superlatives. All I can say is I am stunned but can't wait to see more. This has to be the best model iv ever seen. Give him the trophy now.
  9. I am not typically a 32 rod guy but have to say you really nailed it with this one. Nothing here not to like. Great model and one to be proud of.
  10. Very nice. My kind of models! What scale is the Coupelet?
  11. Together with Art Anderson I am going to deliver a short talk about building and collecting model cars at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. This will be this Sunday at 3:00. Here's a sample of what I plan to display. Right now I'm just trying to get everything clean.
  12. I'm pretty happy to be sharing space with this one!
  13. How are you progressing with this one?I'm looking forward to seeing some updates.
  14. Really nice save on this one. This is a model that deserves a resin made of the body. Then all us could have one!
  15. I really appreciate all the compliments folks. I still have a couple minor things to do but hope to debut the car at a show in Grand Rapids, MI.
  16. Very nice. I have had the privilege of seeing Terry's car, J-550 in person several times, both prior to and after restoration. Your model has really done the real car justice. Great model. I especially like your Duesenberg J lineup.
  17. This is a tough model to get together, let alone as beautifully as you have done. Great work!
  18. Cato, I certainly do not think that the thread has gone too long. I simply cannot find enough ways to express my amazement. I learn something new with every post. Keep building and posting.
  19. Some fight you more than others. Glad to see you persevered.
  20. I really appreciate this thread. I really like the gray with a touch of blue that I have been seeing on some late model Jeeps. I decided it would be perfect for an upcoming Duesenberg Town Car project I am going to start soon. I ordered the paint which comes as a base coat clear coat kit. Because I placed an order for it I felt like I had to take it but it was $19.50 gasp! So for the question, I am thinking I can shoot it over standard automotive primer using lacquer thinner to cut it. What do you think?
  21. My first reaction was yuck! Then I saw the finished product. Great save on this one.
  22. Most impressive transformation. As has been said, this is a great color combination. My favorite in fact. Nice work on a real sows ear.
  23. PM me about a pickup bed. I may be able to help you out.
  24. Nothing not to like here. I like that you choose to go with the stock building option.
