I agree, this is a bit of a brute to assemble but you have certainly done it justice . I too really like your color choices and the blackwall tire treatment is a home run here.

I become more stunned with every step. Have you given any more thought to the color of this? It sort of screams for something out of the ordinary.

I hear you about can vs. Airbrush. While I have a very fine airbrush that is a whole different skillset that takes tremendous time (at least in my case) to gain competence. I have no delusions about mastery. Your paint on this project on the other hand certainly is a piece of master workmanship. I look forward to seeing the complete project.

I would be most interested in their response. Both the Packard and the Mercedes would be welcome additions to my collection. As for now I'm just hoping they decide to bring out a Torpedo fendered T. I can hope, right?

Assuming that I can get them to load, here is a before and after of the wheel tire combination. I'm not 100% happy but I have to keep in mind that this is a model built as part of a set for me and not for a contest.

Does this get a set of Woods Lights? From the box illustration it looks like it does. You have a great start going here.

A while back I thought I heard a rumor that ICM was considering moving the Packard kit and the Mercedes 770 up to 1:24 scale. Can anyone out there either confirm or refute this rumor? Thanks in advance Eric

Personally I have always preferred the sun liner to the skyliner, better proportions. Steve ' s interior is just stunning. Thanks for posting it, if only to give all of us some eye candy!

The 1:1 car is indeed a weird one. It was fun seeing Model T "experts " explaining to people around the car tgat it had been "incorrectly " restored, only to find that the car won the class. Today I addressed the non-demountable rims, a brutal job. Not much to see yet.

I would very much appreciate am insiders perspective of the model car hobby. Road and Track has a column written by Bob Lutz about the 1:1 industry. Each month I find I start my reading there. I'll add mt comments about this when I renew my subscription. Tim Boyd is on to a great idea here.

You are correct. Not a lot of people know what the unequipped car is. I'm trying to present a good approximation but also want to actually finish the model. Tonight I worked on some details of the wheels. Frustrating is the fact that I seem to have a fisheye on one rear fender. No mater how much I work it u can't get paint to stick. I may have to just let that go as this is never going to be a show winner and really is just being created for my own satisfaction.
