  1. You are getting there. I like it. Tough detail work you are doing on this one.
  2. Here are a few more. And check out this dashboard! You can see a hunt to the windshield wiper in this one too. Fabulous!
  3. As promised a few days back, here are a few photos of this fabulous Delage.
  4. This one REALLY looks the part. I will be interested to watch your progress.
  5. I am working on completing a project. One of the first steps was to create a diorama where the cars will be displayed. Inspired by Brizio's work with Cobras I am working to complete my set of the Improved Fords-the 1926-7 cars. Already done are the Touring, the Fordor and the Runabout. I decided the Tudor, the Coupe and the Roadster Pickup (odd, it seems they would have called it the Runabout Pickup, but Ford did not) would be build assembly line style as a group. Without further ado, here is the beginning of the completion of the project. Isn't it interesting to compare the different AMT Ford chassis? They made a considerably number of changes over the years. The chassis to the left is the most current with the middle chassis a 1963-4 version out of a very old kit I bought to use as a doner. Thanks for looking.
  6. Oops, and I see the running board of the Thomas needs to be re-attached.
  7. Like many of you I was deeply moved by the passing of Harry. I learned about his death thsi mornting and spent quiite a lot of time thinking about this inspirational man whom I had never met. As I reflected about this I thought about my own projects and what I have wanted to do with the hobby for some time, specifically, start a diorama. What if my own time was limited and what would I want done myself. To that end, I have the base of my diiorama done and the walls erected. There is a tremendous amount to do but I felt making a start would be a good tribute to Harry's memory. For the first cars parked in the garage, I felt nothing would be more appropriate than a few brass cars with some concours posters in the background. My idea for this garage is it will be dusty and grungy. Like many of the floors in barns at the Gilmore Car Museum near my house, the floor of my garage is wood and is decidedly flat and weathered. The walls are a grungy gray. So...where did I lay that wrench?
  8. I very much agree with the notion of "Harry's Big Boyz." The man had more talent in his left pinkie than I will ever muster on my very best day as a model builder. His comments were always well researched and thoughtful. His models were pure eye candy. May his wish list of "never offered kits" be fulfilled on his next stop. My condolences to his family and friends. I only wish, like many of you, that I could have met him in person. Eric Macleod
  9. I believe that a coupe would be a good project, a significant challenge, especially the roof, but a major accomplishment when done. Let's see it!
  10. Pretty clear to me why you won. This thing is fabulous. Well deserved.
  11. This continues to look excellent. I wish I'd thought of your approach to building the flipper panel. Yours looks much cleaner than mine did. I like what I see.
  12. My kind of model. This Rolls is especially tough as you no doubt discovered. I admire anyone who can complete one.
  13. Nice to see this one back in the works. I'll look forward to the results. Keep it gling.
  14. I am humbled by your kind words. I have heard about the plans for this one and it sounds like it will be stunning. I'll follow this with interest. Wouldn't it be cool if we could get the two cars together at a contest sometime. I'll be eager to see the next couple steps. Eric
  15. Looks good and I'm sure you are up to the challenge. I am impressed with your 1:1 also. I think that the 34 Chevy was the prettiest car Chevrolet ever made. I wish it was mine!
  16. Ron, I will look forward to following your thread. You have probably figured out by now that some scratch building will be needed for the flipper panel and area behind the back seat. Jim and Mike, the advice about the Bare Metal foil is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to improve my basic skills as a means of becoming a better modeler. That will no doubt make for more satisfying models. Your help us greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking guys. Eric
  17. I echo the feelings about your color combination. I've been kicking around something similar for one of my 1:1 cars. You mat have pushed me over the edge!
  18. That is a Tonneau windshield which is an after market accessory that was made by the American Arrow Corp. When raised it really reduced the amount of wind in the car. It also added a bit of class for parades and weddings. As to the yellow, oddly enough I've owned three Lincoln convertibles painted yellow over the years. Thanks for the comment.
  19. Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. This was a true labor of love. There is another one in the works being build by Ron Hamilton. He has a lot more ability than i I have come I'll look forward to seeing what it looks like. I appreciate everyone checking this out. Eric Macleod
  20. I'll look forward to seeing your build up. Mine is a long way from perfect but looks good on the shelf. I've owned many of these cars so let me know I'd I can be of help to you.
  21. 1937 Delage model review.docx Photos to follow soon.
  22. One other thing I will add is this was by far my most difficult model to foil ever. As you can see it is a long way from perfect but I consider it a major accomplishment along the path of learning this skill. I have a few more Lincoln Convertibles of the '60's to do and will hopefully improve as I go. Plus, on the very same model I tried using a new dual action air brush. That was a learning experience. So...this is, at best, an imperfect model, but a great source of learning for me. Eric
  23. I was much more productive on this one than I expected. There are a few more details like sunvisors, a mirror and license plates to finish but otherwise I am calling this one done. Not much of a WIP in the other area. I just got busy and built it. Thanks for looking.
  24. I only wish I could paint that well. Looks good overall. I especially like the front wheels on this one.
  25. Uh...I have one!
