I'll 'take one for the stryene team' on this one .............. lol I've been trying to get a 59 Edsel for a while now. Theres is one on the 'Bay now,,but the seller wants paypal only,,,and I dont do paypal ( long story )
  2. Just ckd.. .I got it. Pm me an address and it's yours
  3. models probably no problem,,paint , But,,paint , glue and supplies I bet would be an issue getting thru TSA , especially exacto knives
  4. I'm in northern Ky ,,( for the time being ) . and the older I get the less I want to deal with cold weather Going to be in southern AZ soon,,,,like within 5 years tops . Plan is semi retirement ,,,,,,and already have a part time job waiting for me
  5. $35 is about right then, its not like its a big dollar kit even mint . Ive got the better set of decals if your interested here is a sealed one if you want to watch it ,,,But my gutt tells me its about maxed out price wise http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revell-1-24-Snake-Mongoose-Combo-Model-/271788769794?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f47df8202 or Sold examples http://www.ebay.com/sch/Models-Kits-/1188/i.html?LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_nkw=snake+mongoose+set
  6. Something to keep in mind. The thicker the tape you use..the taller the paint edge is going to be. Not a big deal if your taping off at a mldg so to speak..but if the 2 colors are going to butt up against each other you might have an edge you don't want
  7. I have 3 pretty decent size display cases. 1st one is over 5' tall and 4' wide and its nearly full with drag car builds. My dad made it and it has the sliding glass doors on it with glass shelves inside ,,,, 2nd one is maybe 4.5' tall by 4' wide, its filled with promos and diecasts and the last one isnt nearly as big at about 4' tall and 2' wide . but its all glass sides and glass shelves. Its curio cabinet my wife bought me for christmas several years ago . That one is where most of the replica stock builds end up.As well as awards my girls have received for sports and school . So my builds stay pretty much dust free, Although I do take them out for a light cleaning every so often. I ran out of room a few years back ( before my dad made me the one big case ) So I sold a bunch of builtups I had,,,,,,,,, ,,and I will not be making that mistake again . And I am rapidly running out of shelf space so I need to start thinking about another display case of sorts in the next year or 2 My wife has 2 decent size curio cabinets with her precious moments stuff in,,If I thought I could get away with it ( not likely and be allowed to live ) I would trade one of hers with my smaller one
  8. ok, will ck tomorrow
  9. OMG, Thats so bad you need to rid yourself of it quickly. Please pack it up ( carefully ) so I can help a brother out and dispose of it properly Kidding of course , but you can send it to me it anyway if you want
  10. Any idea what the missing part looks like? I have a few of these kits as parts kits and may be able to help ya out
  11. I see what I think is about a 1950 Chev pickup around here all the time,,,year round . Just yesterday I saw a 1972 Olds Cutlass convertible in church parking lot....... Same deal I see it year round. Suprisingly enough both look to be in pretty decent shape all things considered
  12. Anyone know if the Modelhaus 1958 Buick has the same shallow interior tub that the original annual does ? How about the interior on there 1958 Oldsmobile ?
  13. Excellant information. I wasn't aware of the history of these cars. Or the brothers themselves. I just did a google search of the Schlumpf collection. Pretty cool history
  14. Yep. Models will be there anytime I want or need them to be . because they're not going anywhere while I'm alive
  15. Interesting info. I have one one the stash. ......just don't remember which one
  16. I'll try the trick on the rear trunk decal. I did put some microsol on it , but it didnt pull down as snug as I would have liked. So I'll cut it and try again. But I keep thinking it needs bigger rear tires . So once the actual car is done this summer, and he decides on tires,,, I'll change them out. As well as copies of the license plates once the car is registered and up and running. Funny part is , I hadnt really planned to replicate the 1/1 car. This one just came about when I had paint in the gun spraying the inside of the doors blue. When I spotted the kit on the shelf and a light bulb went off.................... So out came the airbrush and away we went .
  17. Well, this one is about to come to a close. Its now sitting on its own wheels to see if I like the stance or not . I may go witha bigger rear tire ( doubtful the real car will ride on 14" redlines ) I have a few details to address and touchup. I need to add the exterior mirror and wiper blades. And I think I am going to add more black to the grille to darken it a touch more and paint the inner fenders black ( I dont like the grey showing ) plus touch up a couple small nicks in the finish and wax it. I am meeting the owner of the 1/1 car in about 2 weeks and will present it to him then. Comments - suggestions welcome .
  18. I may have one of the prostreet T bird kits (the one with the good wheels) does it have the ones your after ?
  19. Nope. Family may keep some of them. But with a stash numbering in the 300-400 range. She knows my favorites and would probably keep just them and off the the rest. Otherwise, Put the stash in the oven with me. ,,,,,That way I get to take them with me ,,so to speak. My wife is an accountant ,,,,and has an idea most of them have some pretty good values . So I highly doubt they would just get pitched or sent to goodwill.
  20. Some of you fellas are WAY to organized. If i dont spend at least 15 munites looking for ' something . . It doesnt feel right
  21. Same here, I look at models that would never get my attention in 1/1 . I think it has to do with methods and the process it takes to replicate things like this in scale as opposed to just clearing over rust on the 1/1 But I have no interest to build something like it in scale or in real life
  22. Bought a 1968 Chrysler 300 convertible promo, I plan to take it apart for a repaint to replicate my former car. Also won an AMT 1961 Mercury Montery convertible builtup. .
  23. I am watching this one. May have to think about picking one of these kits
  24. yes, kinda sorta. I have a Revell 1968 Charger on the bench , that should be done maybe late this week or early next week . I have a customers 1968 Charger RT in the shop , should be done this summer the 1/1 started first,,but the model will be finished first Both are EE1 dark Blue, with white interior 440 spd and Dana rear axle The model kit http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=98881 The real car is on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/AM-High-Tech-Automotive/408528952539495
  25. Neither one are mine, and I do not know the sellers. I found them by doing my daily search for old annuals .When I rembembered someone here was looking for these http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-1964-FORD-CONVERTIBLE-PROMO-/171691798286?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27f9a0ef0e http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Ford-Galaxie-500-Convertible-Promo-Model-Car-/201292193408?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eddf31e80
