  1. Small yet very time consuming update Used a prewired dist. from Morgan Automotive Detail ( very nice btw ) Photo etch wiring looms is from Model Car garage Stripped the chrome valve covers and painted them VHT wrinkle black . Machined valve cover breather on drivers side is unknown source Added a PCV valve line to pass side VC , It will connect the base of the rear carb once its on Then spent the better part of 3 hours or so getting the ignition wired up, and I had to do it the correct firing order. Good thing I have a lighted desk top magnifier. My eyes simply are not what they used to be Using the December 1967 Issue of SSDI to get the details right
  2. Thanks, I stand corrected its hell to get old But this is the same kit I built as a kid. Would like to have another one, Only something closer to same scale as everything else thats in the case
  3. Looking good I had an original I sold maybe 2 years ago. Ive been thinking about one of these reissues and build this very car T
  4. Looking at this one. It kinda sorta looks like the old Monogram kit from my youth. ( I built one of them back in the day ,,,. But the car is huge compared to anything else I have) Just smaller scale Anyone thats built this kit, care to chime in with details please
  5. Ive had the Monogram kit but its 1/20th scale Im interested in a similar ( not necessarily that exact version) But in 1.25th scale What are my options I have my eye on an accurate miniatures kit , But its $60 plus postage . Puts it above where I would prefer to pay
  6. These are about as close to 'Custom' that I will get. All are pretty much straight out of the box builds of cars from my youth
  7. Im not one to build customs persay. But WOW the amount of work posted here is off the charts My hats off to you guys
  8. I like it well done Gives me inspiration to move my kit closer to the front of the line
  9. Update I'm looking at colors for this build Far left for exterior color The 2nd and 3rd for interior colors Notice the difference between the 2 TS 21 golds purchased almost 10 years apart All samples are painted over place white spoons
  10. very cool build, Keep it going
  11. What color I'm after and who has it... determines what type of paint i have to use But for the most parts Tamiya or Duplicolor lacquer is 90% of what i use for exterior finishes. Tamiya acrylics or testors enamels for everything else( brush painted)
  12. Correct Im going to replicate the silver/blue SS car, I also have a resin body and most of an old MPC Charlie Allen '69 to go along with it , SO , I MIGHT do the AA/FC as well . I have the silver/red '69 AA/FC car done already
  13. Very nice I have one of the original MPC kits built and in the case One of my all time favorite cars The decals are avail now if you care to do the blue-silver 68 version
  14. Thanks, Everyday is Saturday
  15. Spent the afternoon today doing the BMF work on the body . That was fun, NOT. Its moving forward, even if it is quite slowly I have everything here I need for it. So, it should be finished next couple weeks Magazines for reference material are SSDI December 1967 and Car Craft April 1967
  16. Great looking build so far ps, If someone is going to resin cast that seat. I could be interested in a couple sets
  17. Great idea, And especially cool because the 1/1 in fact HAS the slot in the back for the hinge to retract into
  18. After Wet sanded with 1000 grit You can't feel the line where the stripes are Then Polished by hand
  19. I used it for the 1st time on these 2 the Sox-Martin car is wet sanded and polished And I have ZERO complaints with it . Maybe one of the best paint jobs Ive ever done with a rattle can
  20. I just went thru thios post. And have to say, WOW, is simply not enough. To go thru the amount of work to build this is mind blowing/ The decals alone would put me over the top beyond repair My hats off to you. Anxiously awaiting the finished product
  21. I have these. I've no idea what they are out of Although probably not accurate to the OPs needs
  22. Anyone have the chrome reverse rims they aren't using All 4 please
  23. Ok, Update Being the tight wad I am I was searching ebay for sellers parting out kits and someone posted the chrome rims from a Lindberg 64 Dodge So, I went thru just about every Lindberg Mopar kit I had that I thought had steel wheels in them Found 4 real nice ones in the Lindberg Maverick Dodge kit, AND all 4 are chrome Went thru the Lindberg spare kits box and found two ft tires that fit said chrome steel wheels. ( Ive parted a bunch of these kits out in the past 15 years ) AND with some offset mods they will fit the Revell wheel backs for the front end. Rears are also same Lindberg wheels but in the Revell 67 GTX kits rear tires and kit wheel backs That way everything fits the revell kits chassis components , And the simpler the better PERFECT , for me anyway Thanks all for the quick replies. It sure opened my eyes to look around the stash a bit
  24. I just pulled one of these kits down Tires are ok, but the rims are not chrome. Which creates another problem PLUS ,,,, these tires will fit the chrome wheel from said 63-64 Ford( which are far from my ideal 1st choice ) . BUT then the tires dont fit the Revell wheel backs that fit the rear axle in said kit that position the tires in the wheelhouse right
  25. I have one on the bench I need these rims for , ft and rear Its a drag car, based on the Revell 1967 GTX. So if I can come up with wheels that fit this kits tires is a bonus I've sprayed some Spazstix over a gloss black base spoon test. Its OK at best so am looking for options Sending rims out to be plated , Is not one of those options I've pulled the front rims out of the recent issue 63 or 64 Ford and the fronts I can use in a pinch but the rears are far far to small
