  1. Ok, I'll take some pictures along the way on this one. Managed to get a fuel block made and attached to the back of the scoop , and started running fuel lines for the tank. Not 100% happy with my selection of using crafting beads for the fittings, but I think once it's all together it'll look,,, ok. Now I just need to figure out how to make a barrel valve for the side of the scoop next. Thanks for all the kind words as well.
  2. I really want one of the Norseman kits
  3. Me likey, Especially the AA/FC . Love the interior tin work
  4. Grille is different, side markers are diferent as are the interior seat patterns. And between the release of the Demon and the new 1970 Cuda, I'm gonna blow my whole toys budget on 2 kits, albeit multiple quanities of each
  5. I tinkered with it a bit this evening. Drilled the blower scoop for fuel injector lines and made a distribution block for the back of the scoop (that was fun) And made lines and fittings for the fuel tank. Found some pictures on Big Johns website of the original car. And the rollcage is shaped completely different ,,,, but it's to late now to change it. Close enough for hand grenades I always say. http://bigjohnmazmanian.com/
  6. Just cut the flat hood out of the AMT 1974 barracuda snap kit. Thats what I did to make my Sox + Martin sixpack hood for my original MPC kit
  7. I've got 2 Revell 1964 Thunderbolts done, but at least a half dozen more planned with aftermkt decals
  8. The only kits I have built just one of , is the IMC Little Red Wagon ( aka Lindberg kit now ) and the MPC Wild Willie Borsch Altered. And I have no intentions to do another one of either I've only got one of the AMT 1962 Belair's done, but thats going to change soon
  9. The various retailers all list it as a ' re-issue ', with no additional details. So I assume ( might not be a good idea) it's nothing but a cleaned up tool of the original kit. If thats all it is, I'm good with it. IF it happens to have maybe the chassis and running gear from the current 71 Duster, Well ,,,,,that just means I get cake AND ice cream.
  10. I usually don't worry about or take many in process photos. But with the camera near by while at the bench this morning I snapped off a picture on this one. This is another one of those I started long ago,,, like maybe just over 10 years...time flys. A Good Stuff resin body on a Johan Challenger funnycar chassis and interior tins. Body and chassis both were painted Testors candy apple red over a gold base coat. I plan to do some basic engine wiring and some fuel system hoses/lines but thats about the extent of it . It's sat quitely in the case far to long waiting to get done. And its time has come.
  11. Nope, the only cars I have in my shop office are a few 1/18th scale diecasts ( various makes btw ) Built models are in a 5' tall 4' wide display case in the spare bedroom for now, till the finished basement family room gets done ( hopefully this summer sometime ) ps, I 'think' the valve covers are just testors silver clear coated. ( this car was done probably close to 20 years ago ) As far as exterior paint , I honestly don't remember . It's pretty slick so I think it was sanded and polished out, just don't remember brand / type
  12. I don't have a problem with that.
  13. Must be a light beer .
  14. Jim Heller - Ebay store http://www.ebay.com/itm/400336399435?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  15. Anyone know of the ft axle in the new MPC Mustang funnycars are wider , narrower or same as the one in the Challenger funnycar.? The one in the challenger just looks to narrow / wrong for the body. And I have an older builtup of a Soapy Sales car where the ft axle is wider and so much better looking. I just don't know if its the original kit axle or not. I have a few Barry Setzer Vega FC builtups and the ft axle in all of them is definitly wider than the challenger axle
  16. All this time , I thought the car was white with pink accents !!!!!! is it actually 2 shades of pink ?
  17. This one is more of a 're do ' so to speak. I built this one many years ago and found out a couple years later I had the wrong color int and exterior lettering. So I was never happy with it. Well, about 3 weeks ago while surfing Ebay I found the correct decals to do the light blue lettering. So I took it apart,,,,, carefully. Then removed all the decals from so many years ago with scotch tape hoping I didn't hurt the paint. ( that was fun ) Resprayed the interior in something to more closely resemble the blue/teal color int, and relettered the exterior of the car. It looks so much better now and back in the case it goes for the next 20 years. Enjoy, Comments both good and bad always welcome. Yea, I know it's missing the chrome trim above the tail lights, this one was done back before I had internet access and not a lot of research material on hand at the time. I didn't even know there was supposed to trim there in the 1st place. ( Not a GM guy at heart ) Few moreNot much in detail , just added plug wires and fuel lines
  18. I think we must have lived on the same street. I can only wonder how much stryene melted in our ft yard back then
  19. I've used and do have a simple single stage airbrush, but to be honest 99% of the time the color I want is avail in rattle cans so they are just easier for me, if I had to dig out the airbrush when ever I wanted to spray paint something,, then deal with cleaning said air brush,I would never get the ambition to build anything. I have a 3 tone build planned that I will almost have to dig the air brush out for,, so I may do 2 bodies at once ( both cars will be the same 3 colors and paint scheme)
  20. Ok, I'm gonna ask,,,, where does one get a pea sized skull ? ps, and I am digging the plug wires lettering btw
  21. 1972 Plymouth Duster with some really thick paint
  22. I'm good with the lack of metal axles so thats a good thing . The current AMT Duster is equal to the original MPC 71 I have and if the Cuda is at least equilivant to that,,, I'm good with it . And I REALLY am hoping for a drag car version shortly after the stock issue is released.
  23. Decals to fix my 20 year screw up. The correct teal blue lettering for the Old Reliable 1962 BelAir.
  24. Yep, I just clean up, close the doors and walk out. come back in a few days
  25. Wow, I guess that makes me old. I'll venture a guess that at least half my stash were $9.99 or less , with quite a few at $4.99 + $5.99
