  1. Lets see if this way works. I signed up for Photobucket yesterday
  2. I've paid anywhere from $2 to $500 for kits. Although the chance I will actually build a $500 kit is extremely unlikely. ( sold the $500 kit btw ) Most I have in any one kit today is about $125-$150 range. But I also collect dealer promotionals as well,And they'll put a dent it the wallet quite deep . But thats another post altogether. Back when I did contests , I used to build models using lots of aftermkt pieces. There for could easily tip the $100 and up on builds But now and for the most part outside of the costs of the kit itself and basic suppiles , ( paint and supplies along with some aftermkt decals on a few ) I rarely spend much more than the kits costs.
  3. Is there one of these avail, prefer a 1962 Chev BelAir if avail
  4. Around here Kinkos, Staples or Office Max will not do such a thing. they all says it's copy righted material
  5. For some reason, I am thinking slixx did them ?????? ( sorry, I don't have a set to ck )
  6. HOLY COW,,,, , what scale are those? in the right lighting they would pass for 1/1
  7. A monogram 1/25th scale 1959 Corvette.
  8. ANY sales of 1970 Hemi Cuda hardtops in the past 25 years ,,,,,,, NONE have sold for anywhere near the asking price of this car. This car has been marketed off and on for the better part of the past 10-15 years and it's ALWAYS been priced well WELL over any known sold or asking price of a similar condition car. The fact this car is the supposedly 1st one made has made no impression it's ever going to be worth such a significant price differential of a similar condition/equipped car. This car is no secret out of the past . it's sat in a museum in northern Indiana for most of it life. and is well known in the Mopar community. So ' if ' were going to sell for top dollar it would have done so a LOOOOOONG time ago. IF it goes to a supposed 'no reserve auction' ,,, I'll bet it sells for no way near the so called advertised / marketed price . Back when a similar condition 1970 Hemi Cuda was easily bringing in the $175-$225K range this car was advertised for $1 mil.,,it didn't sell then either . the red 1971 is a much better car, better year , better color combination, better condition , better investment, less mileage. and it hasn't sold either. just my opinion only ps, wanna bet a virtual beer it doesn't sell this time around either ?
  9. so who does the wagon resin kit ? is it still avail .?
  10. It's the bel air btw. I know about the teal color and by the pictures I found it looks like it was kind of a 'teal blue' seats and 2 tone colors on the door panels . The color I used is close,(its a duplicolor rattle can ) may not be dead on , but good engough for my shelf . It looks a lot better than my big screw up with red interior. This car was done back before my internet / google search days . Decals I will be using looks light blue in the add. but they may very well be a teal color, I'll know next week sometime Thanks for the note
  11. I found a few here , sometimes it's all about how you word the search criteria http://www.google.com/search?q=fred+gibb+camaro&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=E84wUc-GEdKy0QGxNQ&sqi=2&ved=0CDIQsAQ&biw=1117&bih=508#imgrc
  12. The white car has been for sale for the a long time and always been at 2 times what it's worth. The red 1971 car is ( IMO ) a much better buy and investment
  13. Model kings versions are all ( in most cases ) some kind of re-issue / old kit. He basically buys the entire run to have the kit re-issued. Some are just straight repops , some have model king only parts/decals included . What this tells me is the tooling exists and the manufactures will at some point ( probably ) re-release it on there own.
  14. Anyone know if the correct decals to do this car are avail.? I think the kit decals are all white lettering which are incorrect.
  15. Well, good news. I jumped in with both feet to fix this car. I never would have dreamed such a simple method would work that well. But , the tape method work really well. it took 90% of the lettering off, then a good rub down with a paper towel soaked with decal solvent took the remainder off. There is some glue residue but I think once the replacement decals are in place it will look like new once again . Ordered new decals this morning. Then I can be happy with the car,,,,,only took 15 plus years.
  16. I paint engines with either duplicolor or plasticote engine enamels , just prime first
  17. For me it comes down to the color I need. 75% of the time it's duplicolor for sprays. For most everything else it comes down to what I can get easily. as I prefer not to have to mail order paint / supplies unless I absolutly can't find something local (that hasn't happend yet ) For brush paint is whats readily avail locally 99% of the time , and thats Testors . Haven't tried any other brands
  18. I don't think any dodge truck of this era ever had 6 lug wheels, they were either 5 or 8 depending on GVW rating of the chassis
  19. Ok, I have a build I did many years ago using Fred Cady decals that are black lettering,,then found out some time later they should be light blue, which are now avail. I am toying with the idea to correct this. ONLY if I can remove the decals and not hurt the paint. There is no clear coat over them and I think the paint I used was laquer. So hit me with suggestions . I'm all ears.
  20. John, I wouldn'y sweat it, once the car is completed I have my doubts the valve cover deal will ever be an issue carry on and enjoy the ride
  21. Thanks , I found several decent pictures on red int cars but blue int shots seemed to be a wee bit harder to come up with. I think it was actually a 2 tone blue, but I'll settle with just one shade and call it good. Got a new interior painted yesterday afternoon. and the car re-assembled today. It looks SO MUCH better now. I'll just re-use the red interior on the Cone Cheverolet / Hayden Profitt car Thanks again
  22. When I do searches on Google, a lot of pictures end up leading me there . 170 pages is nuttin,,,,, You should see the one on drag cars in motion. Last time I ck'd it, it was over 1300 pages these also a good one on 1962-65 Mopar superstock cars as well . just gotta find it
  23. Nice work, I was never much of a fan of the FED cars,,,but thats slowly changing and I have a few on the shelf for later one, this will be one of them
  24. Correct,,,, the car was in fact poppy red, (most of the time) but in real life it looks more orange ( very similarr to the color of the plastic so that should give you a basis to match ) wheels were easily changed from race to race , even some during the same race. HUGE thread over at the hamb on these cars . http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?s=3a038516c17937a24e3803fb7fa051f1&t=136384
  25. I might , I have a box of 73-74 Duster builders, parts + pieces edit , never mind. I don't even have enough lenses for the 3 kits I have
