  1. I just received some sheets from him about 4-6 weeks ago. The email address on his list is JackKSmith@Comcast.net
  2. In a day?? you sir suck,( jk ) I can't get that much done in a month
  3. Reason, I asked . I bought about 3 or 4 resin sixpack style hoods for use on the AMT duster off ebay last fall. I was told they were drag city castings pieces , Yet I don't see them on his product list. I had already made one for myself when I bought them. so I bought all the seller had listed and just back burnered mine . But I now have more projects in mind that I may need a few more at some point. I might consider sending this one out to be cast but prefer not to if it's still avail I've been working on a couple different hoods and I think they all would sell well if avail.
  4. I just saw some resin 8 lug steel wheels on ebay a day or 2 ago
  5. This caster still inbiz ?
  6. Ok, I was rumaging in the parts boxes last night and came across these. bottom right is 1964-65 Race Hemi Mopar only - out of 'I think' an old MPC Charger kit top right is Mopar Nascar ( I think mid 60-s to early 70s era ) out of a Joahn Roadrunner kit 2 on the left , I think are GM, just not sure applications. Are these avail reproduction ? , if not is there an interest in them as such. ? I could use a few more of the Crossram hemi ones is why I ask . and I would donate them to a quality caster if there is..
  7. When it comes to race cars, usually the engine is painted black OR the same color as the chassis it's sitting in
  8. I did one of these kits in this exact same color combo. You will really like the end result.
  9. Keep it up and he'll be master in no time, looks like he's off to a great start. We can't possibily give the younger generation enough praise for there accomlishments. Well done .
  10. I had little interest in using an airbrush. But I needed one for a 1/1 project. So I took a chance and bought one of the cheepies from Harbor Freight, figuring I had very little to loose if it sucked. I was quite surprised on how well it works.
  11. Monogram kits imo are the easist to do for beginners. like the 1971 Cuda or 1970 Challenger T/A another decent one is the Badman 55 chev. ps, my 12 year old daughter built the Polar Lights 65 Dodge with very little help from me, she is/was estatic with it.
  12. Had one, hood was beyond repair it was warped so bad, body was so thick I think it would have needed a grinder to thin it out . sold it and ponied up and bought a builtup original issue. If your patient they can be found reasonably. I have 2 and have less than $100 in both of mine . I have a JF 64 Plymouth sedan body (bought via secondary distributer) and before I buy another I want to see it in person 1st. I know for the price some are willing to work with it, I just would rather pay more to get better. IMO only btw
  13. It's my understanding the AMT boxed 1965 Dodge Coronet kit was actually made by Johan but never sold under the Johan name ? Anyone know for sure ?
  14. I have a couple of his bodies and Yes it is AFXNScale is the manufacturer. No complaints on anything I've bought yet . I have a 68 Dart funny car , 69 and 1970 Firebird funnycar bodies and the sixpack hood for the 69 roadrunner. But like mentioned I think it's a consignment seller. They may lay off a particular item your after for a week or so,,,but just add him to your favorite sellers list and you get emails when they list new items.
  15. Anyone know of any other Chrysler boat kits avail ? then or now , a quality resin version would be ok as well Buddy of mine has an open bow style and he would like a model kit of it . TIA
  16. I'm normally not a big fan of the late 50's cars to much. But I gotta say, WOW, this car just pops in the colors and style it's done in. Just enough added extras to push it over the top. Well done
  17. Very cool. I was thinking about modifying a bench seat from a lindberg 64 dodge kit. Never thought about tape for the texture part of it. I like it ps, there is a real 1967 Plymouth RO car on eBay now .
  18. Very cool, I've got the same thing in my to do pile. What is the bench seat from ?
  19. An unbuilt Johan 1962 Plymouth Fury kit
  20. I remember you mentioned this in your build thread, but I would need to also locate a pro stock pinto kit . And they aren't exactly giving them away . Even if I came up with a decent pinto kit I would want to build it as a Gapp-Roush car, there for I would need 2 Thus for me this would not be a car to do if on a budget. So far all have to do this car is the idea and the 72 bumpers/grille .
  21. Box art might influence what kit I but over another only if the 2 kits are exactly the same. Meaning if the box is either an original or replica of some old version of said kit . As an example. I was looking for an AMT 1955 Nomad recently and I tried to get one of the original / older issues with some really cool box art lid. But,,alas I ended up just getting one of the newer releases with the boring artwork on the cover. But otherwise it means nothing to me . I buy for whats inside.
  22. I get an idea and pull a body out , paint it. then get another idea and the whole process repeats . Thats why I have nearly a dozen bodies painted sitting in cases. my resolution this year is finish what I have already started.( including projects that have been sitting in the wings for over 10 years ) And at my current pace I shouldn't start another kit for about 2 years
