Thanks fellas. I have been on a prewar car buying spree this year and I have this one on my want to do someday list. I have a 1932 Chrysler Roadster , a 1933 Chrysler Imperial, a 1932 Cadillac and a Heller Hispano Suiza kit still on the lookout for a Packard, Rolls Royce and a Duesenberg. maybe even a Stutz

The yellow boxed car in the gangbusters version, is it - or can it be built stock ? I keep seeing bullitt laden body comments.

Thanks for this info A buddy of mine has a 1/1 1965 Falcon and I have been thinking about building him one in scale. Looking at the prices for these kits, and watching sale prices of a few builtup original AMT kits, I am leaning toward the old stuff because prices seem to be very comparitive

A sealed 1965 Hemi Under Glass kit, only to find out it DOESN'T have Hurst wheels in it Thankfully my parts box did.

I believe so . and there have been numerous variations of this kit released over the years. with different options, different wheels etc etc . IMO, the most recent version shown yellow on the box is the worst of the lot. the tooling is showing it's age

I get a lot of - this page is under construction any more planned besides the Ramchargers car.? Might I make a suggestion?

Probably has more to do with costs. 1 piece design = less material . means cheaper to tool up + to manufacturer = a small costs savings per kit. Might be only a few pennies per kit, but figure that over hundreds of thousands of kits and the costs add up pretty quick

I kinda like it in a weird sort of way. Keep it up. A local shop owner friend of mine cut up a real 1932 Ford coupe a couple years ago for a client. He chopped it , recessed the frewall and moved the rear inner wheel wells in about an inch on each side. Last I heard the car still wasn't done. Owner was planing a blown flat head Ford V8 with a 5 spd behind it

Thanks fellas, you all are to kind. This was my 1st attempt for one of these Catalina kits. I used bare metal foil to do the seats and it still didn't come out as crisp as I would have liked. But overall I am real happy with it.

OUTSTANDING, I keep thinking about picking one of these up to build for myself. Pictures make it look almost real. Well done.

I built one of these sock-it-to-me kits a LOOOOOOOOOONG time ago, And will buy one again if for nothing else but the memories factor. Will I build another today? doubt it.... Although the decals on a new Revell body might not be a bad idea either. Great !!!!!!! Another project idea ,,,,like I really need another one !!!!!!

How do you like the Upol clear? Is it over your decals? I like it a lot. I hasn't been sanded and or polished . So it doesn't have that super slick foot deep look to it . But I think it could be if I really wanted to slick it up. But I don't . And yes it is over the decals . I 'think ' there are 2 coats color,1 coat clear, decals then 2 coats clear. All over the course of about a week .This was done last spring. And I just dug the body back out of the dispaly case and assembled the rest of it over the past 2 weeks If you run your finger nail over the edges of the decals you can feel them,, but just barely.

Tires on the Maverick I can't answer . I don't know if they are the ones from that particular kit or not( I didn't build it ) Tires and wheel on the S+M Roadrunner are form the S+M Superbird kit ( the decals are as well ) Tires and wheels on the Duster I am pretty sure are the ones that came with the kit back then.

My thoughts exactly. I may not comment in every thread, but I at least ck most if not all of them out at one time or another. The world would be kinda boring if we all liked the same thing. Some of these are not my kind of build . But I like that you think outside the box,,,,,,Kudos to the op .

Many thanks for the confirmation. I had not see that picture before.The ones I have are more from a rearward angle and I couldn't make out if it had the spears or not. Glad I put them on now. And thanks to all. I actually dropped it as I was setting up to take these pictures so it did spend some back on the bench before it made it to my dispaly cabinet (thats why in the pictures there is no battery in the engine compartment)

Keep in mind some of them are just re-boxed kits from other manufacturers. Little Red Wagon and the L700 tilt cab Dodge truck as an example , both are/were IMC kits

In regards to the newly avail 32 ford kit , It doesn't . This manifold was produced back in the 70's and was called the Rat Roaster. It's a play on names . meaning roast the rat ( aka big block chevy) The were designed with and avail with interchangable tops to accomodate different applications / classes . member Bartster just sent me a resin inline 2 four version for 1/25th scale. PS, these intake top lids were avail in inline 2 fours and a crossram 2 fours (both shown above) , a single four dominator base , and I think???? a sixpack 3 two barrel holley setup allowing multiple applications without ever removing the base from the motor. One of the problems with them they were prone to puddling fuel in them and if it backfired it would blow the top off the manifold. Friend of mine had one on his 1968 Hemi Dart but has since changed it to a more correct crossram with 2 holleys.He was never impresed with how the car ran with a dominator versus the crossram.

Not really, I feel the multipiece suspension assy is a bit tricky to get right . Next one I'll probably superglue some of it in place to make for a more solid foundation to glue some of the smaller pieces off of . Make sure you follow the instructions pretty close. I didn't and had the frame assembled to the floorpan then realized the exhaust headpipes had to go in( that was fun) . Next one I may just cut it off at the manifold and leave the exhuast off all together. Also, I'm not 100% sure the actual car had those funky looking spears on the tops of the ft fenders . Also don't make the same mistake I did. Thinking it was mold lines, I sanded the edge on top of the rear quarter panel thats supposed to be chrome trim. Next one I may add some strip styrene to it for more definition. And the next one is going to be the 7-11 Packer Pontiac.(once several other started projects are out of the way)

Same here, there is nothing about this kit that excites me . Then again, 'and even though I really do appreciate the fact the street rods guys tend to drive there creations more so than most of the old car culture in general' Myself, I have zero interest in building street rods . And I've yet to see anything in this kit that makes me want to run out and buy a $20 + parts kits. Is it really that much better than the numerous other 32 Ford kits that have been avail over the years? my 2 cents only btw. But I will take all your lobster tails and shimp though,,,,.
