  1. exact same kit except box art and decals - just maybe molded in different colors compared to the 1st issues
  2. Happens all the time, something sells for big money, then another one shows up usually within days - weeks at the most . RARELY does it bring the dollar wise the 1st one does. Thats why I never bid crazy money for anything anymore. Just wait, another one will show up soon enough. It just takes patience Had it happen several times for a Johan 1963 Dodge builder. I've bid and lost several of them in the $100-$150 range, bought mine for WELL under that
  3. Couple old started projects that have sat many many years exactly the way shown here. Original issue Johan 1970 Road Runner . It had a badly damaged decklid when I go it , so I cut it out and was replacing it with one cut from the Superbird kit and that was as far as it went 2nd one is an original issue MPC 1968 Barracuda. I wanted to make a BO29 Hemi cuda out of it but couldn't bring myself to sand off the 1968 only rocker trim, so it sits . I've had both of them probably close to 20 years and they've sat like this for close to if not more than 15 years in boxes. Someday maybe.
  4. Your probably right, It looks horrible. You should just pack it up (carfully) and ship it to me so I can dispose of it properly
  5. Killer looking ride. I like this one a lot Ok do tell. I have one of these to do and I'm all ears
  6. WAY cool. I like the ' save the nostalgia' part the most Well done !
  7. I've never been much of a FED kinda guy. So I have to ask. Can someone detail the differences between this , the Ramchargers dragstar and the Garlits FED. I have a few of the Ramchargers Ft End dragsters on the shelf but I don't think I have any of the Garlits car to compare it to. And the only FED I have in the dispaly case is a Tommy Ivo 1320 diecast. I've always been more of a stock bodied type class builder
  8. My #1 bounces back and forth between these 2. This one would be, but I have one built, several builders and one mint unbuilt sealed inside kit that will stay that way
  9. All 1968-70 Dodge and Plymouth 2 door hardtops the vinyl top stops at the lower rear corners of the rear window
  10. In no preffered order. Just my top 5 1969 Plymouth GTX convertible 440 auto with every option that was avail 1963 Dodge 2 door sedan max wedge auto. 1964 Plymouth 426 Hemi auto 1971 Cuda convertible 340 auto with every option that was avail 1970 Buick GSX , Saturn Yellow, blk int 455 auto AND a/c ps, current daily drivers 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 and a my wifes 2006 Gr Caravan
  11. Couple items from Missing Link. A grille - ft bumper and rear bumper for a 1972ish gremlin as well as a couple replacement pieces for my MPC 1971 Duster - 2 ft seats and tail lights .
  12. I'll buy multiples of what is my main interests ( old drag cars mainly) I get what I can , when I can, while I can. Theres been WAAAAAAY to many times in the past I'll pass on something only to find out later it's been dis-continued . And I have to find it in the secondary market at a considerable costs markup.( and I'm a tightwad by nature ) as an example I have nearly 3 dozen lindberg 1964 Dodge and Plymouth kits. And probably close to 18-20 or so Polar Lights Charger / Barracuda / Mustang Funnycars ( multiples of each one make/model)
  13. Boy am I gonna remember this( see avatar) <<<<<<<< Many thanks
  14. Cut it right behind the trans crossmember / torsion bar crossmember area then narrow it slightly behind the rear wheels to accomodate the narrower Barracuda body. I'll pull a stock Dart chassis out and snap off a comparison picture to show the difference between the 2 maybe over the weekend Piece of cake mod that is SO much better than the old mpc chassis. And I wish it was back on the bench, this is another one of those projects I forgot I had till I was lookign for something else and stumbled onto it in a box , maybe someday soon though.
  15. Excellant history lesson .on some really cool replicas I wouldn't mind having for my own. Are any of these avail reasonably ? Many thanks
  16. When this thread 1st popped up, I ordered about 6 sheets, praying I received my order. sure enough they showed up about 10 days later. This was within a week of this thread first being posted He actually sent me my same order twice . So I emailed him on how to return said duplicates and received a response in under 24 hours . Would I spin the gun barrel again in hopes to get more if his line,,,,,,,? doubt it
  17. MPC Barracuda . being converted to a 1968 Hemi Cuda. Sadly,, it's been sitting like this for well over 10 years. MPC body, modified barracuda interio sitting on a modified Revell 1969 Dart chassis . Ultimately , it's supposed to be the 1st 1968 Hemi Cuda ,, the Mule car.
  18. Yes .....and No, sorta Hemi Cudas received ft fenders with modified wheel lips, meaning the inner lip is rolled differently to accomodate the larger tires but externally / visually / outward appearence they are the same as any other 1970-74 Barrcuda . Only the Hemi Cuda received the F60-15 tires, all other cars max ft tire size was E60-15 which use the standard ft fender Standard tire on a non Hemi cuda is F70-14 with the optional E60-15 Only the AAR received the mix tire sizes- E60-15 on the ft and G60-15 on the rear . Also, AAR received re-arched rear spings and bigger tires to accomodate the rocker panel area exiting exhaust tips. PS, if the Cuda kit comes exactly the way It's shown here I am still going to do the happy dance when my case of them comes in
  19. This is just the unbuilt Johan stack . ( thats the only picture I have of the unbuilt stuff ) I have maybe another dozen or so unbuilt Johan mixed Pinto/Mustang/Challenger funnycar kits in unmarked boxes. All told just the shelves area has approx 10 - 11 kits wide, 3 kits deep 8 or so kits tall, multiplied by 3 shelves in my stash . Including, Johan, AMT, MPC and Revell, with just a splash of Monogram kits for good measure . Then there are maybe another 2 or 3 dozen builtups. Most of them are Old Johan / MPC annuals +/or drag car kits. My storage spot is 8 ft high, 4 ft wide and 3 kits deep in most places
  20. I can assure you, if it's being made - it will be profitable. Manufactures pay big money to marketing people for it not to be. And I'd bet everything I own manufactures/marketing people monitor boards like this ( in silence) to insure it will be from the get go . 2nd , as far as re-issues most likely the tooling for a re-issued kit has long since paid for itself . so the more they can get out of it with minimal upkeep AND said product continues to sell. they'll just keep popping them out . 3rd - as far modern new tools , I can assure you if it's all possible,,,, the tooling is up-datable to make subtle revisions and introduce another variation of said subject.
  21. Not here yet. But just bought a sealed Heller Hispano Suiza K6 for 'my later on projects' It'll go into my 'classics stash' for later on. I want to get about a half dozen more different cars from the 30's just for the fun of it
  22. Looks Killer, REALLY like the injected Hemi look , And I can only imagine what driving one of these beasts was like back then.
