  1. Good for you.Just like that . if it's an item I really want , I wait til the last 3 or 4 seconds and put the max I am willing to pay in . Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't . Doesn't make any difference when the winning bid was put in, be it in the first 10 seconds or the last 10 seconds. But I wait til the last few seconds to keep shill bids from running it up just for sport.
  2. For the life of me I can't remember who it was that made these , anyone know who or if they are still avail ?
  3. I don't get to this section very much. So when these wheels are ready, PM me. I'll take a set of wheels and a set of Radial GT tires to go with them for a future Buick Turbo T type build for a friend of mine
  4. What best paint ( or ink ) to make a whitewall on a rubber tire sidewall ?
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Decals-to-build-the-Scotto-and-Blevins-55-Nomad-/251194945192?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3a7c62aea8
  6. I actually agree, but I am aftert a particular look . I actually thought pretty hard to leave it asa factory stock replica?????????????,,,,,nah old drag cars rule This is my ultimate goal , I hope it does anyway.
  7. A quick update . I did a stance test with the tire / wheel combination. Originally I was just going to use the plate chassis from the promo,,,,,, BAD idea no matter what I did the car sat to low . Scraped that idea and pulled a lindberg chassis from the 64 Dodge kit. 8-3/4 rear axle and springs from the Revell 1967 GTX kit with some 1/8" riser blocks mounted to the spring ends to raise the rear of the car up, outer steel wheel halves from the Revell Thunderbolt, Inner wheel backs and tires from the parts box . Wheels will be painted in a dull black , as will the chassis . Rear tires are kinda small looking,,,, but they scale out to be the correct 7" width this car would have had back then. It's just sitting together to make sure I had the stance I am after. Comments good AND bad welcome
  8. Holy cow( can I say that ?) that jumps off the table and slaps you. And I like it
  9. How about this one ?, I see it has drag parts in it .
  10. And avoid this one ? For the uneducated like myself on Chevrolet cars, whats the difference if they're both AMT kits?
  11. http://stores.ebay.com/Missing-Link-Resin-cast-model-cars?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 I have several missing links items on my shelf Haven't been dis-appointed with any of it yet
  12. Ok, I see there are decals out to do the Scioto/Blevins 1955 Car. And I may have to do this one ,,,, just because. So my questions is, which kit provides the best base to build on ? I know Revell use to make one, and I see there is an AMT kit out now. Keep in mind I don't need lots of details ,( opening doors, 100% accurate chassis etc etc ) just a reasonably accurate looking shelf piece.
  13. I can ck my parts stash and probably come up with some GM style booster/ MS assy if no one else comes thru
  14. Missing link has them in there Ebay store
  15. Worked for me, I got 2 of them on the shelf.
  16. Keep in mind the seat patterns are different between the 2 years ( if it matters to you )
  17. AFX in Scale is the maker or buy thru this guy , I just did a few weeks ago http://www.ebay.com/itm/281020013452?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  18. Several sets of Slixx decals arrived today......
  19. Johan is/were probably the best overall body proportions bar none. There biggest let downs are probably in the interior and chassis details. Interior tubs tend to bit a bit to shallow and the chassis usually has everything molded as one piece - such as the rear axle, ft + rear susp and exhaust so they tend to be a bit cheasy looking. But like mentioned, I build for my own shelf so once it's done they look great so I'm happy
  20. IF / WHEN they become avail count me in on a set. I have a reissue MPC 1970 GTO I need decals for I have a couple of your sheets and so far so good
  21. Actually finish the 8-10 kits I have started before starting another one
  22. HMMMMM, just did a test fit ,,,Not bad . . I might use this, if for nothing else but to get a better sance . But with the car already painted and cleared I will not be attempting to open the hood now.
  23. Any one know if the decals to do the Knafel Pontiac 1970 GTO were / are avail anywhere. All I can find are the decals to do the 65-66 season cars
  24. I found a Johan promo on ebay several months back . Best I can tell is it' is a re-issue that came out sometime in the 80's maybe ( not real sure on the date) I've seem more since so they are not impossibile to find. Just a couple weeks ago there was a decent original issue kit builtup on Ebay as well.
