  1. Is this one out already, ? I'll need a couple to build and a few more if for nuttin else but a parts kits
  2. Although I am not 100% sure. I believe it was in fact Mopar designed / Chuck Miller built ( I think it was a design exercise and was supposed to travel around with the RTS cars ) , then went to private ownership later on ( early 70's) And the last I heard the car still exists and is in Michigan PS, there also was the RTS Cuda and is / was a different car
  3. Found this on Ebay completed lsitings ( not mine btw) It might be close, but I don't think it's the same as the sonic cuda nose . but I think it could be modified without to much trouble http://www.ebay.com/itm/MPC-1974-cuda-orig-parts-kit-/150896341192?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23221f70c8&nma=true&si=%2FlBK%2BYElLJ7g5He8zIBIINCr9C0%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  4. I found a few detail pictures of the actual car and it is NOT a 426 based engine. The magneto is in the back which means it's an earlier 1st generation based engine- and my gutt says it's either a 354 or 392 ( both are very similar ) .
  5. AMEN, No manufactuer is going to please 100% of it's targeted audience. Personally, I for one would like to have a hard top, ( drag car builds ) other than that it's not on my must have list . As I am not a Vette fan in general I want - in order - the Cuda, the F100 and the 57 Ford asap
  6. I build for myself, and I have no interests in competing in contests. So for me personally I don't feel the need to go all out on a build. ( although I do enjoy looking at them ) Several years ago I did a build to replicate a friend of mines 1970 Charger and I had all kinds of PE stuff in it. Once completed I realized I had spent had more in aftermkt stuff in the car than I had in the car ( and the kit wasn't exactly cheap) My hats off to them and I would love to support the aftermkt suppliers more then I do ,,,,,but my interests and budget make the decision as to what I buy. But anymore about the only aftermkt pieces I buy are pre-wired distributers , some resin pieces that I can't get in stryene and decals .
  7. REALLY cool looking builds,,,I like them all . Any idea where I can get a set of the decals for this car I think MCW makes them but you have to buy a resin body to get them ( I already have several of the johan kits)
  8. Boy, Am I going to remember this tip. Thanks for bumping it to the top
  9. The recent wanted thread has me thinking about it,,,,,again. Anyone have any ideas on a reasonably close chassis for the MR Unswitchable GTO . It's my understanding the original MPC kit isn't accurate , let alone cheap to find I don't have the patiance or the time to scratchbuild something and for myself it doesn't have 100% accurate either.
  10. Not much, but I did get 3 new resin Duster hoods for upcoming winter projects.
  11. The nose on the 71 would only be the beginning. It has a custom hood and decklid as well. not to mention the tail lights / rear bumper treatment . I don't think any of the cars would be a cake walk to replicate, but I also don't think any of them would be impossibile either. I've seen the Diamante, Duster 1 and the RTS Duster in person and they really need to be seen to appreciate. http://www.roadrunne...SRoadRunner.htm And I agree, I think the Sonic Cuda will be the easist one to replcate, EXCEPT for the paint work
  12. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think it had any of the parts to do the custom version ?
  13. 1st I even seen or heard of this version of the Deora
  14. The only way I'll buy a builtup / gluebomb as they are called is on older out of production kits ( I have dozens of older long out of production builtups stashed away - 90% of are at least 25 - 30 years old ) OR if it's a currently avail kit and it's well done and I just want instant gratification ,,,.AND is priced reasonable . I'm not against that way either.
  15. Keeping my fingers crossed it becomes a reality in scale, WITH the correct hood
  16. Makes one wonder how an accurate representation of ________ ( 1969 GTX for example) could be produced back then , but yet the current offering from AMT sucks. I'll take all the johan kits I can get my hands on to fill the subject matter I concentrate on ( just bought an unbuilt 1962 Dodge today actually) This is about 2/3rds of what I own
  17. Sums it up for me almost word for word
  18. The more I look at this one, the more I like it. The paint work is just to cool not to like
  19. I think it looks great so far ( not that I expected anything less ) ps, what did you use for the intake and air cleaner ? Is it the monogram pieces by chance ? But, and if I may. the actual car used the base line interior not the high line int you have shown I know a resin version of the baseline int was / might still be avail thru missing link . I have one for this very build later on and it looks outstanding. and btw, Just wait till they get older. Bench time doesn't get any easier to find . Trust me, mine are 15 + 12 . Everyday we are taking one or the other to some activity
  20. Yep, had a brain fart this morning. I had 24 valve cummins in my head when I should have said 2 valves per cyl = 12 valve motor. Highly sought after by the cummins enthusiasts for it's simplicity
  21. It is, but it has 4 valves per cylinder - thus the 12 valve name
  22. I can dig them both , but I might be 'slightly' biased. ps, this is no longer 'small block' powered .
  23. My main gripe is the ebay feedback system,, 2 words it sucks in the past 3 weeks I had 2 buyers not pay for an item and the only thing I can do is file a non paying bidder I can't leave a negative, I can't even leave a neutral to warn the next seller???? and if you click the user's feedback NOTHING shows the next seller there was ever a problem. Yet, if I do get paid and don't mail said item,, you wanna bet if I get blasted with a negative or not . I sell and buy there, but my selling days are coming to an end. I'll usually only buy what I can't get locally,,,,,, within a reasonable cost / effort on my part . I have one LHS but it's about 20 mintues away and he's not exactly the cheapest to buy from, but I do try to give him at least part of my buying business
