  1. UhOh, Thats not good I need several of the decals he makes
  2. Mans name is Bill Wieman
  3. So, is the revell 1970 Challenger r/t kit actually 1/25th scale ? if so is a plastic bodied kit ? this one as an example ( not my listing btw ) http://www.ebay.com/...=item337b8eecc8
  4. Ditto, I prefer to not pass judgement till I see the final version in person. But what I can see is the rear portion of the hood bulge is to tall and to squared off at the back end. edit I'll add in here, If the hood is the only flaw in it, (and so far thats the only glaring fault I see ) I'll still be tickled pink and do the happy dance when it arrives . If Aoshima wants to compete - take this and run with and do a 1971 Cuda or a 1971 Challenger and go head to head with it on sales potential . An accruate 1/25th scale 1971 Challenger could easily eclipse a 1970 Cuda kit
  5. I'll be surpised if the car breaks 7 figures. This car has a storied history that ( IMO ) will prevent it from bringing any kind of record price. In the Mopar world it's refered to as the 'wheelbarrow ' car An amusing read about this car. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=7391702&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1
  6. Really going to depend on the thickness and quality of the decal material in question. I tend to think it would be easier than it sounds, http://www.decalsbylucas.com/MOPAR_Mod_Tops.html As an FYI, there was at least ONE 1970 Hemi Cuda that came equipped with a mod top ( and it still exists today leading a pampered life ) http://www.mooresmop...m/modtop93.html
  7. I've gone thru stages. back when I was a kid, I didn't sand or prep anything . I bought and built them as fast as I could buy them . then acted out wrecks and crashes , complete with burning crashes and flames. then it started all over again as my allowance allowed. Later years I went thru a stage where ever model I built had to be detailed to the ninth degree. some taking over a year of off and on work to finish. Fast forward to modern times. I build to make it accurate for the subject at hand, and with excetion to some small aftermkt add ons for a few,,, they're now more like box stock builds . In the past year I've still only managed to finish maybe 3 or 4 builds. Family, Kids activites and running a business take most of my time . Once life settles down I doubt I'll ever go back to the super detailed builds.
  8. Another good subject. I want it , almost as bad as the 70 Cuda ( almost) I personally would love to see a 1968-71 Dodge pickup
  9. Although it may not be the answer your looking for. But my gutt says it was based on a 427 series block and heads. But,,,,,I'm not all that well versed on NHRA rules of the time period either.
  10. Any Dodge or Plymouth E and B body 440 + Hemi cars 1966 thru 1972 had the Dana 60 rear axle be it 440 four barrel, 440 six barrel or 426 Hemi Also, All Hemi equipped 1968 Dodge darts and Plymouth Barracudas also used the Dana if it had a 4 spd trans
  11. Dave's not here
  12. I CAN predict the future. At least a case of 1970 Cuda kits. At least 3 or 4 of the 71 Ford pickups. Throw in a couple 1957 Fords and my toy fund will be drained again
  13. I tried the foam brush method . It helps add shine to paint and dulled decals finish . But as far as self leveling I was less than pleased. I'm not a big time airbrush user so I'm not sure if or when I use the future method again
  14. Not 100% sure, but I think Satellite grille is the same grille as a Belvedere of the same year, but painted differently Biggest difference is the tail lights and trunk finish panel AND the interior pattern. Not to mention upper + lower body side mldgs are 1966 Satellite only I saw the MCW Belvedere conversion but in the pictures the tail lights just look wrong
  15. If I may, If the tooling already exists, ( with a built version on the table it obviously does) Why does it take another 7-9 months to bring it to market ? Based on pictures avail, It's obviously all new tool and not a reboxed version on the previous abomination . A 'racing' version would be an excellant idea, question is which one ????????? my vote would be a Sox and Martin car.
  16. Like the title says. Anyone know if there is a resin conversion to convert the Revell 1967 GTX into a 1966 Satellite ?
  17. Line tech for Dodge dealer for almost 25 years. most of it as a driveability specialist + trans specialist. Serv mgr at the last basically called me a liar , I told him to shove it and walked out. That was 2 -1/2 years ago,, I opened my own shop . Specializing in Classic car maint and restorations. On top of selling parts for classic cars, all the time specializing in Mopars ( explains the user id now doesn't it ) I work for myself and by myself . I get there when I want to to and leave when I want to . Doesn't make a ton of money but it's the happiest i've been in the last 10 years http://amhightechauto.com/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/AM-High-Tech-Automotive/408528952539495
  18. I am a detail fanatic, And I consider myself something of a rivet counter,,,,,,,, BUT. As long as it represents the subject matter without an extremly vivid imagination. I'm good. I read about the rivets counters harping about the roof line of the new 1955 300 kit. But I feel it's one of the top ten kits of the last decade.
  19. WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 to all the ones on here whom do scratchbuild stuff, MY hats off to ya. I'm just tickled pink if I get the decals in the right place
  20. I've used the fine wire method a few times. I also use it to replicate the old corbin clamps on radiator and heater hoses
  21. The oldest kit I built is I think is an old twin engine dragster, followed by my Johan 1969 Roadrunner. I have whats left of a Barry Setzer Vega , ( found it also mixed in with some model bits and pieces long forgotten about ) Dragster, I don't remember when it was built ( I just found if a few years back with some other model parts thrown in a box . Roadrunner was built back in the early 80's , I know it's not right, but I just don't have the heart to take it apart to correct it. The Vega funnycar, I actually bought an unbuilt a few years ago and built it, not knowing I even still had this one . So I'll probably use this one for a different buildup.
  22. I have one of them on the shelf. so I pulled it to ck,,,,,,sure enough thats them. It sure looked like a Plymouth emblem in the center
