  1. Tag says it's a 1970 Charger ( non R/T ) 383 car console auto , and yes it is an original plum crazy purple car

  3. Here is the JF body along side. The Plymouth script on the rear edge of the decklid is non usable. Plus the JF body uses the shape of the Dodge body for the forward edge of the decklid which is wrong
  4. Here is my progress so far. Using the windshield top header from the Hardtop Plymouth and then the Roof, B and C pillars section from the sedan Dodge. Making the transition from the C-pillar down into the top edge of the quarter panel is not going to be bad but the edge along the roofline above the door frame will take some work. This is along side the JF body,,which at some point I will use but for the car I want to replicate it simply would not do. As the rear area on the decklid is just to far gone
  5. Costs of the base components is higher, + modeling community as a whole is older + in most cases means less kits sold / produced. = higher prices the days of the .99 cent kits are LOOOOOOONG gone
  6. Thanks fellas, I though I had posted the question once before , but couldn't find it. hence the repost. my apologies I will get something new ordered for the next project. Currently working on a 1964 Plymouth hardtop to sedan conversion and I will have several seams to fill
  7. I am finding myself doing more and more repairs and or body work. And I have a tube of spot filler but I am less and less than pleased with how it sands out. So, what is the filler of choice for models body repairs today ?
  8. How much of a difference can there be in a hardtop versus convertible version, other than the missing roof ? I think hardtop NON out of the box build possibilities far out weigh the roofless version .
  9. I am finding myself making more and more body repairs as I get back into the grove of building. I bought some automotive spot filler and I am not not really happy with it. what is the choice of late.,,,,something single part in a tube would be my preferance if at all possibile and does it matter if the subject is molded in white/gray or some other colors ?
  10. I know all to well about indecisions. I have dozens of them sitting in boxes. Some have been waiting nearly 20 years. I sold several dozen kits , ( some unbuilt - some builders) this past spring because they had sat entirely to long. And I cut them loose in hopes the next person will do something with them. Several went to kids under the age of ten, If I lit a spark in just one of them,,,,,, I'm good. One of them was an AMT hauler trailer, so I can relate. Sorry fellas I can't replace the 63 dodge for anywhere near what I have in it ( under $30 ) That one is slated for a superstock dodge type build, I just can't decide which one to do.
  11. You know you got em, The ones sitting in boxes waiting , and waiting, and waiting. I've had these 3 for what seems like forever. I know i've had them at least 15 years. And each time I get them out. I can't decide to do them as replica stocks or old drag cars. I have several of the 1964 Dodge kits without the side trim, but this is the only 1963 Dodge I have. Original issues of both Johan 1963 Dodge and a 1964 Dodge Polara with the side trim intact. And lastly a 1962 Dodge Dart convertible. The 1964 Polara Hardtop i'm just not sure about just yet,, 1962 convertible,,,, I may eventually just use as trading material.

  17. I just sent them an email asking . Or do you happen to know if it's a Flintstone body or not ? UPDATE - I heard back from Dave at MCW, he makes all his own masters to cast from. I did some looking around there site and they have some killer builds with decals I didn't know existed.
  18. Anyone done a conversion of the Plymouth hardtop using the sedan roof from the Lindberg 1964 Dodge ? If so, I'm interested in tips to do so. I've started one and found out the Dodge roof is about an 1/8" narrower than the Plymouth body BTW, I have the JF resin body and decided to not use it make my own
  19. For me , acheived perfection is when I look at a completed build on the shelf and if I see the effect of what I set out to replicate. If so then all is good. I do try my best to make the subject as accurate as I can ,, but within reason. I've done the super detailed builds. and although they do look great once done but they can consume a year of my time. Now, I prefer to make them nice. I have no interests in contests.if it pleases me, I'm happy.
  20. The more we coach the younger generation the better off the modeling hobby will be, DO IT My daughter built this as her 1st. Other than the decals nothing extra has been done. I did help with the decals and some of the tight fitting pieces of the kit,,,, but for the most part it was all her. PS, this is a Polar Lights pre-painted snap kit in pearl white

  22. Whats this about the ft bumper ? someone please explain. my only interest in this kit would be as period correct drag car as the roofline would be right for several 1962 -1963 era cars
