  1. Looks great. Love the color choice.
  2. Just started today a 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. After finishing a stock one in Raven Black and a Kustom in metallic green, I decided to build another one on the color I like most among the ones Ford offered for 1957: Coral Sand. A friend of mine that owns a 1:1 car paint store was able to reproduce the 1957 DUCO paint from the original formula. It can't get more authentic than this. The best part is that it was not expensive at all. Casio (my friend) made me a quart of paint for the equivalent of 25 Dollars, and I plan to use it on lot's of other 1950's Ford cars!!! I'm not very big on WIP threads, as I always forget to post something, and this project will take some time, as I don't have much modeling time this month, but I'll try my best, OK? What I did until now: I tested the Duco paint on plastic from the Revell kit yesterday, and it didn't harm the plastic at all. I was expecting less shine, as Duco paints need to be polished to shine, but I was surprised by how well the paint performed on test. This morning I moved to "full scale work" (ha ha ha) and painted the '57 Ford body with my cheapo Western single action airbrush, that's the one I get best results with when I airbrush real automotive paint. Had to use the maximum paint flow setting, set the air pressure to 40 PSI and paint almost hitting the body with the airbrush. Yes, it's that different to paint with 1950's Duco paint!!! Anyway, I loved the result. I'll have to polish it a bit to take the orange peel out, but I love the color. 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  3. Very cool!!!! Loved the color choice and the overall execution.
  4. WOW!!! It's a masterpiece for sure!! And it's refreshing to a see a proper Model A Ford and not a butchered thing with only the body to tell it's origins.
  5. That's what I call a great job!! The paint is great, and the deviations from stock are so subtle and tasty that I don't mind them at all!! Uncle Henry would be proud of this little car.
  6. That is what Chrysler do Brasil called a Dodge Charger R/T in 1979. 1979 Dodge par Túlio Lazzaroni Lovefordgalaxie, on ipernity
  7. I had an ERTL 1:18 scale Chevrolet Cameo Pick up that literally fell apart. Firts the doors just came of, the the paint started to follow from the truck, and in a couple of weeks the body was loosing pieces. I have some diecasts, and the only ones that have no bubbles on the paint ar a '67 Fairlane by GMP, a '68 Mustang by Auto Art a '71 Lada by IST, and a '58 Edsel Bermuda by Dambury Mint. All others have at least some tiny bubbles on the paint. My advice to you is to put your love on the plastic models. Another point in favor of them is the fact that you built them and not some diecast company.

  14. Very cool!!!
  15. I like it!!! A honest small car, and I actually think it looks good. A lot better than some rocket rabbits if you ask me!!!!
  16. It's real as can be driven. 100% sure. It's a model because it's fake, it's just something made to resemble the original car made in 1932.
  17. Unrestored original car. Belongs to a friend of mine. I did a complete carburetor tune up for him, removed a Pertronix II from the distributor and replaced it with the stock points and condenser, replaced plugs (Champion F-14Y) and plug wires, and made a new fuel line from the pump to the carburetor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNljcMy1mHY
  18. I have an idea for you Mark. get one black marker, the permanent type used to write on CDs and DVDs, and mark all mold lines with it. This way, all you have to do is to sand until you get rid of all black lines and you are done.
  19. Looks very good for a third car built. On a constructive criticism side, I think you missed a mold line on the front fenders, just between the headlights and the hood. You see a lot of that on shows from experienced modelers. They get carried away by the aftermarket stuff, and forget the basics. Don't go after them, I don't. I'm building things box stock and still trying to master the basics like getting rid of all mold lines, sink marks, and ejector marks, and even tough, a miss a lot of them.
  20. Very funny Harry. Now stop cheating, and post pictures of the model
  21. It has a nailhead, at least something is positive about it. The idea is not very original tough. Looks like some people think it's the perfect way to fix a car that has being rear ended: What NOT to do with a Galaxie by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  22. For sure it was funny to see people with no clue on what the poor old Corcel was One guy on my street has one and I drive pass it every day
  23. Ayrton Senna had several. He even did a Corcel MK II ad: Ford Corcel II by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  24. I think I have an issue about '57 Fords... Ford Customs by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr When those are built I will have seven built Revell kits. Not to mention the AMT kits...
  25. I'm pretty sure that little car back there is orange.
