  1. This is a special car for me. It's the very first Galaxie, still as a top of the line model of the Ford Fairlane 500, what would change for 1960 with the Galaxie being a separate car from the Fairlane. This model was built from a original 1959 AMT annual kit, a Trophy Junior series kit. I bought it built from eBay, and it had only being built with a couple of drops a glue and no paint, it was like working on a virgin kit. I also have the 3 in 1 Customizing kit for the '59 Galaxie, also from AMT, this one still intect in the box, and there are some very small differences between the Junior kit (that gives big brother results, granted!!) and the grown up brither kit. The junir came molded in yellow, has one piece taillights, and soft vinyl tires. The 3 in 1 came molded in white, has two pieces taillights with a red plastic insert, and has the rock hard vinyl tires. It also has the full array of customizing parts and decals. In this model I used Tamiya paints. I used TS-41 Coral Blue and TS-26 pure White. The Coral blue is a match for the original Ford color of Indian Turquoise, so I got lazy and kept the airbrush away. The interior is the factory option mediun blue metallic, dark blue metalic, and white. The model was built to represent a brand new, never used unrestored 1959 Ford Galaxie. 2. Super!!! What a work of art.
  3. Looks very nice, I like it a lot!! One of the very last cool cars manufactured. Your color choice was very fortunate, and the overall build quality is great. Two tumbs up, for sure!!!!
  4. Don't feel odd Jürgen, I'm too into vintage racers like that Fiat, and same vintage Darracqs, for example. Those Fiats were impressive machines at the time, with massive cubic inch displacement. I admire them very much. Your work on this Fiat can be considered impecabble!!! My Italian blood approves it!!! Molto buono!!!
  5. Very nice job!!! The colors suited the car very well, and the Y-Block V8 is dead on for the car. Thumbs up!!!
  6. Well, at least for me Foose=RUINED, so if the kit doesn't have the stock parts i'm out.
  7. That's my kind of car, and also my kind of model!!! Very nice work saving the original paint, and also on the detailing.
  8. Super nice!! Loved the Cragars, and the paint job.
  9. This one makes the Fiat 500 to look like a design wonder. What? A mini Cooper? NO!!! That thing is too big!! I want one of those little blue thingys...
  10. Mr. Andrew knows what he's doing!! If those are the first two, by the time he's 20 his models will start and drive!!!!
  11. Now that turned out great!! It's a pitty that the work is not complete while you don't build the mighty truck
  12. Looks great!!! This is a GM car I really like, and you did it justice.
  13. Loved the end result Carl. The car itself is beautiful, but the build quality is great. As a Ford nut, I have only one sugestion tough, and it's a very easy one to follow if you fell like doing so. On a Fairlane of this vintage, the "A" pilars have no paint showing, as they have a piece of stainless wraping them over, just like on a '66 Galaxie for example. Very easy fix with a bit of BMF.
  14. I would never remove the lettering from the chassis, it's a very cool touch!!! That screams "promo style" out loud :D I was disapointed with AMT's 1961 Ford Galaxie (the Styline kit) because they removed the lettering... For the ones wondering about the paint, I had it custom mixed in Vintage Burgundy: 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr Thanks again for the comments!!!
  15. I would love to see the promo reissued: 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  16. Thank you my friends for the comments!! This Galaxie really hit a couple of soft spots on me. First, it's a Galaxie!! Second it's a original issue kit, and of a subject I think the guys at Round 2 should really reissue (so I could get the original hubcaps ) Thanks again folks!!

  18. Just finished this one. It's a rebuild of a 1962 issue AMT kit I bought on eBay. The old gal was built, but was all unpainted. Even tough it was not a glue bomb, the windshield was bad, it had some glue on it, and the glue had melted almost all the way trough, so I had to make a replacement glass, using my PET bottle technique. This was the only original part I was not able to salvage. The Galaxie was originally built factory stock, but the original builder choose to use the optional custom wheels, so I didn't have the stock wheel covers to use, and it's the only non factory part. I'll first post some pictures of how the car was when I bought it, and then the pictures of the finished product: New Old Model by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr New Old Model by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr New Old Model by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  19. Great looking Pony!! Just a tip: some black paint on the radiator's front is something easy to do, and will make the car even more realistic.
  20. Loved it!! What a nice build. I like them curbside models a lot.
  21. She looks real classy. I liked the way you had built her the first time, but have to agree, than the color combo now is nicer.
  22. I like it!! Even the color looks crazy enough to scream 1970s!!!
  23. I loved the look of the car. Looks really mean. I built the same kit some time ago, and swaped a Chevy six under the hood.
  24. Thank you guys, for your nice comments!!! Here is how the Failane looked with the wheels it had when I built it: '57 Fairlane 500 by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  25. Oh boy, that brings back memories... I saw that movie when I was a kid. The model turned out perfect!!
