  1. WOW, I just loved it!!! Great engine detail. Also great to see the shock mounts at the towers, that adds a lot to the model. Not to mention the color, that is just perfect for the car.
  3. It really looks great. Love the color, the dog dishes, and the Wide Ovals.
  4. That's nothing short of a work of true art. Excellent job!!
  5. Super cool. You got me with the '70s vibe!! Great work.
  6. Thank you guys!!. Loved your feedback!! My next model will be a Revell 1957 Ford, that I want to build bone stock, the way I like.

  8. Well, I spent the better part of this year without building anything, so I got a little rusty. Like I have a nice stock of AMT '57 Fords, I decided to build one to "unrust" a little Like I'm a little much worry no fun when I build something stock, and I don't want to mess up, I went with a hot rod. Did that because I don't really care much for a non factory stock car, and so I would build it with less worry. That being said, I started with a 1990s vintage AMT Fairlane. Painted it Tamiya orange TS-12. Gave it a light buff, and then applied two coats of automotive two part clear. The clear was then wet sanded and polished to represent a custom paint job. I tried to put the car on the early 1970s, as I really don't like anything about the hot rods I see today, with their huge steal locomotive wheels, and crazy paint jobs, not to mention the tendency to become computers on wheels, that happen to resemble a old car. My Fairlane has 15 inch Cragar wheels and tires are bias ply, just like back in the day. Engine is a 312 Y-Block V8 without anything electronic whatsoever, but with a custom dual quad intake and two Autolite 4100 carburetors on top. Air cleaner is from a AMT 1962 Thunderbird. Also added some traction bars from the AMT 1956 Ford kit, a nice wooden steering wheel from the AMT 1951 Chevy Fleetline kit, and GT mirrors from my parts box. Oh, please forgive the front bumper looking like it's about to fall off, because it was!! When I took the pictures the glue was soft, and it really fell, and it's only barely in place. Now I just fixed that : 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr 1957 Fairlane 500 Club Vicky by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr
  9. I like it very much. Great color choice, and great weathering on the underside.
  10. WOW, that's a beautiful build!! Love this vintage AMT kits. Built one last year. Mine in fact was a rebuild of a kit I got built but unpainted. Unfortunately, mine came sans the stock wheel covers, only with the kit's custom wheels, and I left them on the car.
  11. Looks great, but you forgot to foil the side trim. I built this kit some time ago, and remember only one problem: The interior was a pain to make fit inside the body.
  12. Loved it!!! I built one too, only mine is in black. Can post a picture if you want to. Never liked butchered Mercs, like the stock, as they left the factory.
  13. Very nice. A lot better than a rot hod any day of the week.
  14. Loved the paint, and the hood, but the wheels are too modern for me. Great job anyway.
  15. Beautiful. Loved the color choice.
  16. Chuck, you know me, I'm not into rat rods, but the quality of your work is great. The weathering is very well done, and that engine sticking out of the engine compartment was a great idea. Also liked the horns. Well done mate
  17. I liked it. At first it's odd, but I got your idea.
  18. Here are mine Box Top builds: Model Puctures by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr Model Puctures by Lovefordgalaxie, on Flickr I thought I had more, but looks like I don't usually paint the cars the same color they are at the box tops. This and the fact I like building most of my models factory stock, kind of reduces the possibilities for a match.
  19. Very nice work Carl.
  20. Loved it!! What a great color combo, and finish.
  21. My kind of modern car...
  22. That's a sharp build!!! Great paint, and color choice too.
  23. The Mercury chrome hubcaps are a nice touch, but I never saw a Firestone Wide Oval with a wide whites. Paint looks great.
  24. That's not Matti's fault Harry, that's just the way the car looks like with the stock kit's spindles in place. When I built mine I used the lowered spindles, and that actually got the car to the correct stock height.
