Ken Gilkeson Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 this is the Elvis kit built a couple of yrs. ago. hard top placed on it for photos.
TooOld Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Cool ! For a kit that everybody got so excited about being reissued we sure don't see many being built .
ZTony8 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) I think that few are built because the kit is such a bear to assemble. The tie rod/steering damper is too narrow for the front axle beam, the engine components are fiddly to assemble and you need the patience of a saint(and maybe pins) to get the headlamps and the front "bumper" to stay in place.I haven't yet ramped up the courage to try assembling another one of those kits that I have in my stash. '70 Grande Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Incredible paintwork; great build! I had no issues building my Manx either; guess I shoulda posted some pics of it!
rsxse240 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 If your gonna build something from the seventies, you sure dont do it right unless you go huge with the metal flake! I would've love to get one but I must have missed out when they didn't get any at hobby lobby.
PatW Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Well done Ken the build and paint are superb! I've built around 6 of these (including a 4X4)and am looking at another build right now! Yes that paint job is great.
