cobraman Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Several months ago I painted a Studebaker with yellow enamel that I thought would never dry. : )
Crazy Ed Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Ray up where you are the paint dries it's just during the Summer the Plastic Melts
Randy D Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Hi Ray, Really enjoy watching you build all these different cars !!!! Randy
slusher Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) What brand of enamel are you using Ray? Edited May 20, 2015 by slusher
cobraman Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Thank you guys. This one was sprayed with Model Master Carl.
Snake45 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Thank you guys. This one was sprayed with Model Master Carl. Yah, give it AT LEAST two weeks, preferably in a warm, dry place with good air circulation. And if you can then still get ANY paint smell from it, give it two more.
cobraman Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Snake, I am in Arizona. Where the heck would I find a warm , dry place ? : )
cobraman Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Here is a pic of the chassis and interior. Some touch up still required. I will be taking a break on this one for awhile as I wait till the paint on the body is dry.
slusher Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Looks good Ray, you could start another project while waiting on the paint to dry. You may be ready to put it together in a week...
mustang1989 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 This is gonna be a freekin' cool build Ray!!!! I'll be watchin' this one!
cobraman Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Body dried while I was working on the 1912 Henderson motorcycle so I was able to finish this one. Turned out ok but not great. Comments always welcome pro or con.
Snake45 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Wow, you work FAST. And pretty darn skillfully, too, it looks like. Hope mine looks that good if/when I ever get around to finishing it.
aurfalien Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Wow, that's very very cool! The paint job is beautiful! The engine is very nice. I actually had this kit, started with it before the 908. I used enamel and it orange peeled, I noticed heat seemed to un-orange peel it. So like the 1/4 Polak that I am, stuck her in the oven for 10 min. She looked real good until the colder air from the kitchen hit her and bayam, akordeon effect big time. Darn that physics! I cried over that one! Edited May 27, 2015 by aurfalien
wayne swayze Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 This sure turned out sweet! I'm envious of your skill with that Model Master paint! That's smooth! Well done Ray!
cobraman Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Thank you very much fellows. Randy the bike is done unless your talking about the 1/6 scale Tamiya Fat Boy.
superbike-shaun Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Ray I thinks it looks pretty darn nice considering the short dry time, maybe Model Master isn't that horrible?.I'm so excited for you and that Cobra, should be quite a build.btw I'm still tinkering w/ my cobra build, maybe When you start yours it will inspire me! awesome chapparel,1 o' my favorite race cars when I was knee high you get it superbike-shaun

cobraman Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Thanks a bunch guys. Really wasn't that quick when you consider how simple the kit is.
