mrmike Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 This the Revell '30 Ford Model A Touring Street Rod painted with Testors Inca Gold One Coat Lacquer with a white interior, wired engine, and a lowered suspension. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y224/mrmike007/30%20Ford%20Model%20A%20Touring%20Street%20Rod/30ModelA40.jpg[/img
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Looks very good, fine, slick, glossy paint...colors kinda remind me of Ga.Tech's model A. This is a kit we don't see built very often, probably under-rated. Yours shows that it can build-up to a very nice model.
wayne swayze Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Nice change to see a "touring A". Like the gold with white interior. Was this built out of the box? Refreshingly different!
fseva Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Beautiful build! Your radiator needs a wash of black to set it apart from the excellent chrome surround... just a suggestion...
Harry P. Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Did you glue the rear window to the outside of the top instead of the inside?
mike 51 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Very nice except.... The radiator needs to be painted black just like you did on the back ..not merely "washed" that is the radiator showing, not a grille...
mrmike Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Thank you, guys! Nice change to see a "touring A". Like the gold with white interior. Was this built out of the box? Refreshingly different! This kit was built mostly out-of-box with a few changes made to suit myself. Did you glue the rear window to the outside of the top instead of the inside? Yes, Harry. I tried the window from the inside, but I didn't like it. I glued it in from the outside since it visually looked better to my eye.

Very nice except.... The radiator needs to be painted black just like you did on the back ..not merely "washed" that is the radiator showing, not a grille... Every '20-'30s era rod that I have seen has had a chrome grille in front of the radiator. I can't envision this rod with a black radiator showing. I also considered applying a black wash to the grille, but dropped that idea because I like the shiny chrome grille instead.
Pete L. Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Michael, Really nice work...inspirational to say the least !!!
carrucha Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Nice tub. The color coordinated valve covers are a nice touch.
