gtx6970
A few other threads are doing quite well. And I tend to lean more outside the main stream as far as interests go. Plus I have a 1959 Bonneville and a 1962 Bonneville ( both convertibles ) I need to redo and need some ideas . So,,,,,,, post em if you have them I'll start. An originai issue SMP 1958 Bonneville convertible I rebuilt earlier this year. my 2nd one is a builtup silver 1960 Bonneville I bought as is and seriuosly doubt I'll ever take it apart . Kodiak Island Modeler
Seeing this thread makes me think I've gone to Heaven. On second thought it must be the other place. As much as I like Pontiacs, they never liked me. LOL

As much as I like Pontiacs, they never liked me. LOL ehhe .. my first automatic was a '67 Tempest with the transmission from hell. It would start skipping when it got hot. Had it looked at many times and even torn down and put back together. That seemed to work but I'd had enough and sold it for the cost of the rebuilld. Talked to the guy a month later and he said the trans started skipping on the way home! Said he got a standard from a junkyard and replaced it .. what I should have done! It did have one of the tightest engines I ever had .. not a drop of oil on it. Nice builds here guys!

gtx6970
Well, I've got a few, & plenty more to build! Steve Steve. Is the last one a 1961 ? I REALLY like that one
chunkypeanutbutter
Ugh.... I'd LOVE a '70 Bonneville promo to make into the Ron Burgundy Catalina... however, no model is worth $250.
StevenGuthmiller
Steve. Is the last one a 1961 ? I REALLY like that one Yes, it's a '61 Bonneville. One of my favorite Pontiacs! I'm really looking forward to the Mobius '61s When they come out! This body style, coupled with the usual Mobius level of detail, ought to be a real beauty! Oh, I'll bet you could find something a lot cheaper than that Miles. Does it need to be a hard top? If a convertible will do, there's a Model King re-issue convertible with the trailer & boat on ebay right now for less than $100.00. There's even a mint condition hardtop from Model Car Mountain with a buy it now price of under $200.00. That's a lot I know, but if you can get a mint, in the box '70 for $189.00, I'm sure, with a little time & effort, you could find a nice built up for $50.00 or less. Keep looking, they're out there! HotRodaSaurus
Probably the first model car kit I wanted to build was the Airfix(MPC)1966 Pontiac GTO but my mother would not buy it for me as she thought it too hard for a 6 year old. To be honest I did not realise it was a kit of parts, I was just impressed with the box. As a side note, I was always looked for kits with great artwork and also remember the original Monogram Duesenberg which dear mother would also not buy me. thatz4u
I always thought the designer of the big 67-68 Pontiacs, was hired away from Ford's Edsel division.
